If there was only a way to turn down the noise, or even turn it off completely? Oh wait its in the settings!

Muting people should mute the noise their pings make.

Common responses to this type of thread by ping abusers:

• Turn sound off: Doesn't work, turns all sounds off and doesn't allow you to pay attention to meaningful pings, and you can still see their '!' and '?' spamming on you
• Ignore it: Yeah I'm just going to ignore those giant '!' and '?' symbols all around my character when I'm trying to position/cs correctly
• You're weak: Yeah we're so weak because we want our team to actually play the game instead of spamming pings all over us which often causes them to die themselves. No one wants ping spammers or flamers in your game, it has nothing to do with being weak.

Actual Solution that has been denied because it 'eliminates communication altogether': Muting a player should mute their pings, Riot won't allow this because it gives muted players no option of communication. If a guy is flaming all game and ping spamming, it's extremely unlikely I want to see what he's going to say as he's already shown he's not interested in communication.

BUT WHAT IF SOMEONE JUST MUTES ALL: They already do this, these players are not going to change just because muting now works on pings, in fact they might abuse it less now because they can't abuse ping spamming when they're muted.

People that deny this is a problem have not been a victim of a true ping spammer. A true ping spammer can EASILY ruin your game. Of course they're not going to do well themselves because they're wasting all their attention on pinging, but that doesn't make it any better. It's akin to trying to play baseball, you're the batter, and some guy is standing around next to you dancing and screaming in your face while you're trying to hit the ball.

Really? Muted pings caused you to lose "another" game? Implying that you've lost games because of it before? Really? Are you sure that's the reason you lost? Just seems like your logic is wrong. You probably were gonna lose anyways, and that's why angry little pricks were spamming pings. It's just like the statistic about toxic players lose 13% more games or whatever it is. I think it's false correlations. People aren't toxic when they're stomping. People are toxic when they're getting stomped.
