I started YOLOing into bad plays because I can't focus on the game when I have 20 danger pings in my face and 20 assistance pings on the other side of the map.

No worries. Hearthstone is pretty popular and free to play, might want to give that a shot. If you're not about card games, that's ok too. I found a list of the top 100 free to play PC games on Reddit, so you should check that out. Some of these are multiplayer, but there are a number of single player games in this list.

I don't know about you, but I'd rather try to make things work before giving up on them. Riot is, or at least claims to be, a company that strives to deliver on the player's expectations and listens to player feedback. If that's true, then it's not unreasonable to come to the official forums and post feedback before giving up completely.

This person's problem is something a whole lot of other players is also experiencing, and it's as easily fixable as allowing you to block pings from people that you don't want to see and hear pings. It's not hard and in fact it was something that you could do just last season.

Wow. The people saying 'just deal with it' or 'play another game' to someone ping spamming all over your screen is just sad. No one should have to play a game that requires this much focus and constant input and deal with someone being able to distract your screen and sound with no punishment whatsoever. Just shows the maturity and selfishness of some people who play this.

Well, if you've met a true ping spammer, you would know that you can't exactly play around it. It's worse than having an AFK.

I have played with pings muted for 2 years. The visuals flashing all over the place on my screen still tilts me :)

Common responses to this type of thread by ping abusers:

Turn sound off: Doesn't work, turns all sounds off and doesn't allow you to pay attention to meaningful pings, and you can still see their '!' and '?' spamming on you
Ignore it: Yeah I'm just going to ignore those giant '!' and '?' symbols all around my character when I'm trying to position/cs correctly
You're weak: Yeah we're so weak because we want our team to actually play the game instead of spamming pings all over us which often causes them to die themselves. No one wants ping spammers or flamers in your game, it has nothing to do with being weak.

Actual Solution that has been denied because it 'eliminates communication altogether': Muting a player should mute their pings, Riot won't allow this because it gives muted players no option of communication. If a guy is flaming all game and ping spamming, it's extremely unlikely I want to see what he's going to say as he's already shown he's not interested in communication.

BUT WHAT IF SOMEONE JUST MUTES ALL: They already do this, these players are not going to change just because muting now works on pings, in fact they might abuse it less now because they can't abuse ping spamming when they're muted.

People that deny this is a problem have not been a victim of a true ping spammer. A true ping spammer can EASILY ruin your game. Of course they're not going to do well themselves because they're wasting all their attention on pinging, but that doesn't make it any better. It's akin to trying to play baseball, you're the batter, and some guy is standing around next to you dancing and screaming in your face while you're trying to hit the ball.

Really? Muted pings caused you to lose "another" game? Implying that you've lost games because of it before? Really? Are you sure that's the reason you lost? Just seems like your logic is wrong. You probably were gonna lose anyways, and that's why angry little pricks were spamming pings. It's just like the statistic about toxic players lose 13% more games or whatever it is. I think it's false correlations. People aren't toxic when they're stomping. People are toxic when they're getting stomped.

I've found that if you don't play shitty people won't spam ping you. Also, you didn't lose because of pings. You lost because you lost and you're using pings as an excuse. The simple timing of events confirms that.

Hard to watch the minimap and positions and cooldowns of all 5 enemy champions when all you see are 20-30 question marks on the map (and in the chat box) every 2 minutes. So you play worse.
