Smart Bans?
Hey, I'm a Bronzie. And I've been here for awhile. Over the last year or so I've been reading/watching a few things to climb and I'm happy to report that I can see it working. In normals I feel like I'm leaps and bounds ahead of where I've been when I'd join a game and play whatever I felt like. Unfortunately, this isn't the case in Ranked.
Ignoring the tough breaks that everyone gets (afk's, toxic jerks, etc.), it seems like there are an usually high number of players who are intentionally ruining games. Maybe that's my opinion, but I'm seeing others post about it here, so i thought I'd ask if there's a plan. And I mean for those people intentionally trying to duck the radar? Here's an example of what I mean.
I got in a game the other day as an ADC. I was excited. I never get to ADC, I enjoy playing it, and I had a janna support. But I came to find out that the Jungle and the Support were duo queueing and when they didn't get bot lane, they played together anyway. In this case, that meant Janna followed Xin around the jungle. I could tell almost immediately that they were talking in chat positively for what I assume is some cover in case they got reported. At the 10 min mark I muted them both, tried to play as best I could, and took my loss.
I queued up again and the same Janna player was there. In the lobby I told them something to the effect of "I'm not playing with [PLAYER NAME] - they trolled last game and I'd rather not waste my time. Before said player got into troll-mode they actually said "Yeah, but you know how it is with me, my trolls are either 0-15, or 15-0"
And that's my question. Is there a plan to deal with players intentionally ruining games in such a fashion that the usual trip wires aren't going off? All i'm really hoping for is something like "We discuss it. We're looking into it." I found out the other day that people are notified when players they've reported get banned. I've never personally seen this and I find it slightly odd.
tl;dr - what's the plan for people attempting to not get caught? The "Guys, I'm sorry I'm not doing well, but I'm having a bad game. Please don't harass me" crowd that knows what they're doing.
