After losing several normals to players FAR better than I am, I've finally snapped.

Now I'm chat restricted and honor level 0.

I'll continue to lose to plat/diamond players, and even if I do finally fix my MMR after dozens of losses, now I can't even earn anything for doing well so it's all pointless.

Why don't I just feed every game now? The game's just going to mock me if I have the audacity to earn a good ranking somehow.

I'm sick of being told you can learn more by playing against better players. There's an upper limit to that. If the other player is TOO good, you get stomped too hard to figure out what you're even doing right or wrong.

I'm really not that good, and I don't want to be thrown against plat/diamond players in normals. Where am I supposed to practice if I can't play norms without being hopelessly stomped and tilted off the planet?

It helps a lot to analyze the games even if you are getting stomped. Figure out what movement or positioning or action triggered the "pro" jumping on you, or why they were able to win trades or poke you down etc. Replays was the greatest thing riot ever added to this game. Also go watch or spectate the guy that just rolled over you, how does he build, what strategies does he use etc.

I know you probably have heard it all before, but it helps to identify your mistakes. The game has a high learning curve, so it requires a constant process of improvement. That's the whole reason people get hardstuck, because they get settled in a specific playstyle or strategy when the meta (for the most part) is constantly shifting.

its true. i hate matchmaking, but i think its necessary in this game.

matchmaking just makes everything feel so pointless. if you start winning you just get harder and harder matches until you lose back to where you were. everyone ends up at 50% winrate.

when you are new and play bronzes you win 50%. then you improve and you win 50% in silver. work your hardest and you can improve some more and win 50% in gold. why?

what is a players motivation in a matchmaking system? i dont know. bragging rights? because someone is going to be really impressed when i make it to gold? my friends wont care and i doubt my grandma will be impressed.

i honestly think i was happier in bronze being terrible but fighting terrible opponents. at least then it was funny.

Then they either are A) Trolling in normals to go against low ranked people. or B) Don't play normals enough to have a high mmr in normals.

Or they're playing with low ranked users.

If you feel like you absolutely can't get better, there are three things you can do:

  1. Duo with someone. If they are lower than you, this will bring down your MMR a bit (it does skew towards the higher player). If they are higher or at your level, they can provide feedback to you.

  2. Watch pro streamers. Find someone you like or someone who plays the role you do. Against plats and diamonds in normals, it's usually enough to just do what that pro streamer does.

  3. Just focus on CS and not dying if you're a top, mid, or adc. If you are regularly the lowest ranked player in your games, then you aren't expected to carry. CS is where the majority of the gold is. This is something everyone even pros can still get better at. If you regularly find yourself getting pushed out of lane (camped, dove, etc) then pay attention to the matchups giving you serious trouble and either ban them or avoid them. Also focus on vision since that gives you a heads up prior to a dive.

I glanced through your match history, and it certainly is odd. Would you mind sharing some of the account history? As far as I can infer from the matches I've looked at, you're a relatively newer player that mostly plays bots and special game modes, and you have no ranked history.

I clicked this thread prepared to say something like "Playing against higher-ranked individuals is fantastic! You learn stuff you'd never figure out by continually going against bronze and silver players", but that's not the case here. Clearly, the game thinks you belong up there, while clearly you're not there yet.

If I were you, I'd submit a respectful support ticket to ask for some help. You've been thrown into the deep end, and something surely isn't right.

Alternatively, if you continue to play at your level, the game WILL eventually move you to the appropriate level. I'm just not sure how long that would take, and I respect how hard it must be at this stage.

I know this thread probably sounds dumb, but I just wanted to vent a bit.

Play ranked against and with players with the same skill lvl as you?

If you're getting diamonds and plats in normals, then you're just as good as them if you and them are tryharding.
