I heard Riot is valiantly fighting with toxicity, right?

Then why is phrase 'ez' not a taboo word? Riot has became the "snowball MOBA", which means most of games end up onesided. Players are already tilted because of crappy ranked, unskilled teammates, enemy challenger smurf (or whatever), trolls or just defeats. Do you have any idea how much inting and frustration generates simple "ez"? And the best part is there's always at least one or 2 f#####s that just have to rub it in. Especially when they did indeed have easy game. Some people get offended when someone trashtalks on their family or wishes them x/y/z. Usually I just don't care. But 'ez' makes my blood boil. Personal attacks from enemy only mean he's frustrated. But 'ez' just goes "i've kicked your ass senseless and I'll just make sure it will hurt tad more.

I know that if Riot made 'ez' warn/ban-worthy offense toxic a-holes would find another word to int enemies, but that's the thing you have to observe and fight with.

This game is so damn nerve wracking.

Edit: here's the best comment made by Tuition Fee that exactly summs up my feelings about it:

I agree it's unsportsmanlike. If the game is already in your grasp, there's no reason to further antagonize your enemy, or be a dick. You already took their LP; don't take away their dignity too. Treat your opponents with respect, and don't be arrogant.

Edit: Looks like you guys only prefer to talk about fixing toxicity, cause when someone mentions a problem they have that causes them to be triggered and therefore toxic, you end up not giving a single fuck. Hypocrisy much.

Hey I'm the petty guy who reports people for this unsportsmanlike conduct under either being ungracious in defeat or victory.
And to you 2 arrogant and ignorant people saying just be as toxic as you like it's just a game, you would be happy being cursed and aggressively flamed if you screwed up once when playing sport, or at work, or at school? It's bullying and bullying is not okay, so maybe grow up and stop being toxic for Christ's sake.

Being a nice person isn't hard.

I guess the key here is what you call toxicity, and what Riot calls toxicity. But for reference, here's a couple of things...

  • "Ez" is both a taunt, and the shorthand for Ezreal.
  • "Ez" is not really inherently toxic...it's that some people who are already frustrated are triggered by being told they were easily defeated.

Riot's definition of toxicity is something that personally demeans a player, or something that is generally offensive to a person or group of people in general (such as racism) that may not have been meant in a demeaning way, but is known as globally taboo. "GG EZ" on its own is not really demeaning anyone personally, it's just banter. Now...if it were to say "Wrecking this adc is ez af" or something along those lines, it'd be more personal, and more demeaning...possibly to the point of being taken as more than general banter and being actually negative, if used enough times as an obvious means of attempting to make you want to ragequit from frustration. But on it's own it's not considered toxic.

So if i type "ez come swap with top" and i write it on multiple lines I should be punished?

Honestly I think riot should let us be as toxic as we want in chat as long as we are not being racist. If you ever played cod back in the day or play csgo or overwatch now you will know that trash talking and toxicity is something people just accept and tend to have fun with. I miss the days when I could boot up bo2 and start trash talking and being toxic and no one would care, it was fun as hell but now riot wants to help out all of the snowflakes that can’t handle something as simple as “ just try and play a little better”

Then why is phrase 'ez' not a taboo word?

because Ezreal finds this offensive

I too, report this. Not because it pissed me off or anything, but because it's completely unsportsmanlike. I see people who do it either do it to get a rise out of someone whether they win or lose. They don't care whether they actually upset someone or not... And when someone does respond back, the response it's "ooh you're salty, because you know you're bad" etc etc with lots of laughing which you know could actually tilt someone and there goes the game.

I believe people get enjoyment out of saying "ez" just to get a reaction, or to have the last word. And, to all the smart asses out there .. saying "good job ez" isn't going to work. It all depends on context.

I disagree, while I agree that anyone who verbally abuses people or personally insults someone should be punished. I don't think for one second that terms like "ez" or "?" Should be punishable.

Let me put it this way, 50% of league is mindset and mind games. "Which way will they dodge?" "can I force them to waste their key abilities?" "can I bait them?" But the mind games are also bad manners like "ez" "?" "Are you okay?" As everyone knows that people don't play as well if they're tilted. And that means if you can tilt someone then you have more chance of winning.

If I'm in a ranked game and putting "ez" or "?" A couple of times could cause me to win the game, then you know full well that I'm gonna do that. Does that make me toxic? No not at all, it actually says in the game tips that bad manners are allowed, but no verbal abuse.

I'll finish it off with this. If you're so easily tiltable by someone saying 2 letters like that then either disable all chat or don't play the game, and I'm not saying that to be negative, I'm simply suggesting that if you can't keep composure then you're just gonna be stressed at this game all the time and excess stress isn't good for anyone.

Good day.
