Can Telling People to Kill Themselves Automatically be Worth a Punishment?

"Kill yourself" and "kys" have no purpose and no need to be said unless the person saying it is trying to be the most toxic asshole they can.

Same goes for racial and homophobic slurs.

There's no place for it, if the chat logs show the person is being toxic and using these to seriously attack another teammate they should receive a punishment right there imo. Don't let them continue on for multiple games pulling that garbage with a new set of people each time.

Like, there's a difference between telling people "oh you suck gg" and "uninstall the game, you're autistic, kill yourself"

Neither should be said but one of those is very obviously being said by someone who really wants to make sure you feel like trash. I can deal with the "you suck", but when people start telling others to kill themselves and start calling people autistic and all these slurs I get mad and wonder why they're still playing this game.

Yes, it's possible to be punished and even escalated multiple tiers for saying that. Most of the time you see someone escalated multiple tiers straight to a ban it's because of that or repeated hate speech.

Aight good, whole reason I posted is because I just got out of a match where a teammate was telling my duo friend to kill himself and that he was autistic and it just makes me so mad that this guy is somehow still playing. I doubt that was his first offense.

If I get the "a player has been punished.." message I'm gonna know exactly who it was for lol

The "kys" part, and any other kinds of threats or urging someone to commit violence. Insults about autism etc. might register as more toxic than some other insults, but at least not on the same level as hate speech and kys.

How is using the word autistic as an insult NOT considered hate speech? Your marginalizing a minority group because of a mental health condition they were born with, its the DEFINITION of hate speech and should be punished as such.

Maybe if you sent everyone who reported someone a message saying they were punished instead of just the last person to report them more people would feel the system was actually working.

While I agree with your point (but I use it more like argument against existence of hate speech, and this comes from gay), in case you want to treat word autistic like that, here comes words retarded, idiot, imbecile, debil, etc. All of them were medical terms to represent people with certain mental problem (idiot, imbecile, debil to express range of IQ on which the person is, retarded to express people with slower processing). All of them have the same power to offend minority.

And since hate-speech facotor is so inclusive, there are whores who didn't choose this life, may be in need of help and thus offending someone by comparing them to such minority is unkind. Here comes bitch, whore, hoe, etc.

EDIT Also, wishing cancer upon someone (as long as it's in-game as I've recenly learnt) is indeed reportable and should skip several levels of punishment, it's one of more extreme expressions of toxicity.

I don't understand, but I have an example similar. A while back I used to main Evelynn , when the enemy jungler picked her away I told them "Kill yourself in game.... like go to the raptors and just auto attack.... you'll die, trust me."

Not sure why you and this board can't really grasp what I was saying, but there are plenty of situations where you may legitimately tell someone to kill themselves in the context of the game, in a completely non toxic way. Sometimes it is the best option in order to deny the enemy team any gold. If someone were to be instantly and immediately punished for it, because they said "kill" instead of "execute", then how would anyone view that as being justified?

Telling people to kill themselves is necessity when playing aram. Cause i always get the Lux who wants to go 45/0/32 only to lose the game cause they don't realize not spending 12k gold hurts the team.

Ah. The only time I ever use the phrase "KYS" is when people int my promos. When I say int I mean literally run it down mid because they're terrible people ruining everyone's game for no reason.

Totally agree with this Charyzard. I can already think of a system for riot to implement the punishment system.

"Kys" is up there with a high offense/crime "You suck" is misdemeanor

High offense is something that seriously offends the player in any way irl, a high offense would strike the person with a "OMG he's real about this" to an "It's just a game." And it is on top of that VERY serious.

Offense Some offensive conduct towards a player or group. Directly or indirectly it's going to count as: Offense. Ex: Dude you seriously never played this game before you deserved to lost.

And the rest I'll leave for later. At like 6pm But anyways toodles.

Also... wasn't the tribunal so useful in these matters...
