Is asking for "Open mid?" at 5-10 minutes a bannable offense?

Games are ending MUCH sooner than they did in previous seasons.

However I have heard speculation that Riot's Draconian System is punishing people for attempting to start an "Open mid" vote. Is this true or is it flimshaw ?

This defeatist mentality, pretending you've already lost the match before it is over. That is why on the korean servers people quit literally after first blood goes to enemy team, people can't finish what they start anymore.

I think you should be able to /ff at any point (past 3 minutes) in the game.

If you only ask then not.

Acting like your team agreed on opening even though they didn't probably is. (aka opening mid while your team said no)

I think giving up at any stage of the game should be punishable as "afk/left game" -- unless your nexus is about to blow up.

I've come back from all inhibs down, fighting baron'd supers, and winning a single teamfight that led to taking all the enemy's turrets. So, anything is possible until the screen says "DEFEAT".
