Let us mute pings from specific players holy shit (audio AND visual).

I've played with ping audio muted for 2 years now.

This game is still almost unplayable because of people spamming fucking pings all game and distracting me. I want them completely hidden (for troll teammates). Audio, visual, and chatbox. COMPLETELY hidden.

"But this will ruin team communication" - if I have a troll on my team I'm already ignoring ALL pings, including those from legitimate teammates, because I don't have time to check who's actually making the ping. So the trolls are ALREADY ruining communication.

I would honestly love the ability to do this. Most of the time, I can deal with the pings. It's pretty rare that I have someone being a complete asshat with them. But when they do? Ugh. It makes it so hard to concentrate when someone is spamming that fricking ping every chance they get. And if I drop the ping volume for everyone, I end up being unable to hear pings from the players I actually need to listen to.

how it's not even that serious for the most part and easily can be turned down in the in game settings just play music and if the visual really bothers you that much then i can't help you there :/

It's usually not a huge deal. For the most part, I really don't meet too many trolls in game, it's just when I do run across one, they are typically excessively annoying. And being a support main, if the troll is my adc... well, I'm stuck with them for at least the first 10 minutes of the game. So, I'd be in favor of having the option in the client to be able to mute the pings the way we are able to mute chat. I think I have them set to something like 14-15 volume most of the time; just loud enough that I can hear them but quiet enough that they aren't obnoxious.

I think they just need to make it so that you can only ping like 3 times in quick succession and then a short time out before letting you ping again. Right now I think the ping limit is like 6... and then the cooldown is barely anything.

..Ping spam amazingly doesn't affect the vast majority of people. Not everything can/should be used an excuse.

doesn't /ignore @champion do that? when I'm pissed off in a game I do that to people and I never hear ANYTHING from them. Maybe I'm wrong about that command. I haven't really found out what it does besides mute them

Adds them to your "Block List", which prevents all in-game communication as well as most interaction in the client (you can report or honor, but not send or receive friend or game invites from them). So yeah, it does exactly what the daily post on this topic wants.

The only caveat is that there are limited slots just like the friend list, so you won't be able to ignore someone if it's full and the lack of a bulk unblock function makes it a chore to clean out.

Would deleting the sound files from our client side or rendering them useless be a bannable offense? I mean it doesn't really give any unfair advantages and its not scripting or hacking.

I just finished a game where i pinged the Nami support to fall back because she was engaging a 1v3 at 1 minute into the game. For the next 34 minutes she would ping danger on me. Fun game.
