Banning Toxic People

Ok sure but why·7/27/2016, 3:56:09 AM·1 votes·171 views

I'm just going to point this out.

If someone has at least 2000 games played, and he's permabanned for four different infractions, you're banning someone who was bad 0.002% of the time at the very least. That's a pretty tight leash. Shit.

And don't try to convince me that they got away with it the rest of the time. There are assholes out there who report everyone in their game regardless, just to trigger an investigation.

Isn't that true for virtually all crime and punishment, though? If I'm caught robbing a liquor store, I don't get let off due to my 25 years of non-criminal activity leading up to it.

Plus, punishments are typically triggered from multiple games, so it'll likely be more than four out of 2000 games that a player is getting banned over.

To draw a comparison between a permaban and life in prison or death is unfair. A permaban may be the highest order of punishment in League, but all it is is being prohibited from being part of an online gaming community. It's not that big a deal, especially since you can re-enter at level 1.
