A unique idea for a report system update/Vigilante system.

I think that Riot wants to update the Report system. To be more accurate, better tell you when your report did something, etc.

So I got to thinking: "Why not have a Honor level update to it" And thought of some ideas.

The Vigilante system, to kind of replace old Refer-A-Friend (RIP)

This system rewards players who send honest reports to Riot, punish those who send false reports. And rewards players for going out of their way to track down scripters/boosters/inters/etc. And make league a better place.

Heres how it works:

Every correct report gives you 1 point. Sending in tickets with screenshots of an OP.GG or other site of an obvious booster/inter etc. gives you 2. You still get the points if it is obviously an inter, BUT only results in a strike on the account.

You lose 2 points for sending in false reports, like "Complete inter, ban this guy" When it was obvious someone had a bad game. No wasting Riots time.

Rewards: Potential chests/keys/gemstones. Maybe? 3 New Tiered Skins.

Now when i think of Vigilantes for whatever reason i think of Zorro. The standard black masked spanish man with a rapier.

SO these skins are black masked Vigilante skins you get for reaching milestones on the Vigilante system.

For who? I dont really know, swordsman DRIPPING in the stench of self justice. Or real justice (Garen ) So like Fiora Yasuo Garen maybe. Or as marksman MissFortune or Varus. Im not sure, feel free to put champions who you think deserve the skin and why.

What does this do? Nothing Negative.

This would cause less false reports to be sent to Riot. So less time wasted. This would cause more proper reports to be sent. This would stop enemies from reporting players they have no evidence to report. (1 report is enough to punish a shitty player) This would make more scripters/boosters being found out. It would encourage more people to be helping make League a better place in general.

The only downside is Riot doesnt like releasing free skins. However since they are similar to Old Gray WW, and Old Medieval Twitch. That being a free skin wouldnt detract from RP purchases.

Its a win all around.

Let me know what you guys think and if Riot should impliment this system. And if they should give a reward similar to honor system for being honest in reports as well as being an active participant in making league a better place.

Other Ideas?

I have to disagree with you. Rewarding people with skins for reporting will only increase reports and have players looking for games or provoking players to find easy "reportable" offenses. Not to mention, refer-a-freind skins showed people that you brought more people into the game; vigilante skins would just show that you punished someone in the community. Whether they deserve it or not, I think your idea is bad and would make the community more toxic rather than less.

Terrible idea on so many reasons.

You always see posts of people basically getting off on the feedback prompt. Which makes me sick, the perversion of justice. They should remove the feedback prompt.

This would just make people even more report happy.

this is a horrid idea and i can name several reasons why

A. passive aggressive report baiting already exists. this would give people who report bait even more motivation. especially the ones who know how to do it while avoiding the banhammer

B. not only will report baiting get worse. but people may report for things they normally wouldnt. causing the IFS to find new things "toxic" that it didnt used to. not using chat. or putting people on mute. or just general pessimism.

C. you will see a lot more subtle trolling and "soft inting" due to reason A. as trolling is one of the quickest ways to provoke "toxic chat"
