Your post was removed for harassing another player. It's not GD where low-key harassment is acceptable, it's Gameplay where it's not. This hasn't changed since the first time a post like that got removed for harassment in Gameplay and sent GD on its "pancake" kick. It's not that it's some crazy insult, it's that harassing other players isn't OK.

In the future, if you want to ask me about a removal, then ask.

I still think it's pretty dumb. If calling someone a pancake is against the rules, then I may as well have just gone all-out and not backspaced my original message.

Re-read what I said. It's not about calling someone a pancake. It never was. It's that you're harassing another player. That isn't always about name-calling, it can have a lot of different contexts. If the point of your post is to attack a person and try to belittle them, that's harassment and you shouldn't make that post.

It was a thread about balance. MY thread. And they were posting really stupid shit over and over again. All I was doing was pointing out "that is really stupid shit" in reply over and over again, because they were an arbiter and were automatically going to get upvotes just for being an arbiter (and essentially derailing my thread).

You're basically saying I could go into someone else's balance thread (lets use Tryndamere as an example) and constantly post "I think Tryndamere should be an AP scaling champion and have his AD ratios removed" over and over again, and defend my point every time it's replied to. And then I can report the OP when he replies to me saying that idea is stupid. And really, that idea is about as stupid as the idea the arbiter posted (AP Tryndamere).

These are public Boards, not yours. If you make a post, anyone can post in it. If their ideas aren't something you like, you can ignore them and downvote them. You do not need to engage someone and continue to engage them and call attention to their posts in a negative way like making a post in GD and directing everyone to that discussion just because you don't like what they're saying.

This may be something you can get away with in GD, but it's not something you can do anywhere else on these Boards. If you can't keep that in mind when you post, or just don't care, then fine. But we'll continue to remove harassing posts made towards others because that's against the Universal Rules.

Downvoting someone popular who gets upvotes simply for existing isn't going to do anything. Unless I have 20 smurfs to downvote them with, my thread is essentially derailed. "The arbiter is always right" is an attitude that persists outside of "help & support" and into balance threads. So if an arbiter posts something really dumb, the thread is over. They may be volunteers, but they should still have to be careful with their popularity and "power" when posting.

Their opinion in balance threads basically holds more weight than a challenger player, simply because they have a differently colored name (when the boards aren't glitching). Which is a problem, because they aren't challenger players.

I understand you don't exactly like the Arbiters, but please try to understand that it's our responsibility to facilitate discussion rather than shut it down. We don't have this mindset of always being right. In fact, during our meetings, we always discuss areas in which we can improve. We certainly do approach being community leaders as a kind of responsibility and hold the community's perception of us in high regard.

The reason the Arbiters don't show as having a blue name in other boards is actually by design, rather than a boards glitch. The same applies for the Wrenchmen, who don't have special names outside of Help & Support. The reason for this is simple, our expertise applies only to specific areas of the boards rather than the entirety of the community. I actually made a post in Gameplay to demonstrate this. Knowing this, if someone gets upvoted in Gameplay, it's probably due to them having made a good post rather than them getting attention because they have a special name.

All that being said, I invite you to point out any kind of posts where you think an Arbiter shut down discussion simply by posting. Communication is important for us and anything that inhibits good communication is an area we need to work on.

Dats what happens when you're an arbiter and people spam-report anyone who backtalks you. The mods see that it's been reported 50 times and go "meh I guess it's breaking the rules lol"

And the mods aren't very good, so they'd rather defend the deletion than reverse it (as evidenced in this thread).

I'm pretty sure I wouldn't be disciplined at work (or arrested for that matter) for calling someone a pancake.
