Why is racism and homophobia not an instant punishment? (in game)

I make a point to report people every time they say the "N word" (racism word) or the "F word" (homophobia word) regardless of context, because those words are NEVER okay in ANY context.

Most of the time they won't get punished.

Why is there not a zero tolerance for such things? One game of saying that one word once, and you should instantly be escalated up a punishment tier (10 game chat restrict if never punished before). Why does it take multiple games of racism to see a punishment? It's literally the EASIEST thing for your automated program to catch, because certain words are NEVER okay in any context, so the context doesn't matter.

I've never seen so many people in a game who are complete sissies. The number one reason people cannot climb in this game is BECAUSE THERE IS A REPORT SYSTEM. If people didn't worry so much about reporting, and spent more time focusing on THEIR gameplay and improving--- then everyone would improve at least an entire tier.

let me explain... how is anything these people said anything greater or less than what you said. i can go on and on linking links.. but honestly .. you're not going to read them.. and i only read half of yours.

i am not saying that you are not a unique snowflake.. if that is what you want to think of yourself.. but what i am saying is ... you are white noise in the flood of this board.

let me ask you some questions and let me lead you into reality with them so you may never post this stuff again.

Q: did you report them? did you leave a comment about why you reported them? after the first or second time did you mute them? did you argue with them and try and get your point across to them? is someone at Riot paid to read your reports? do you think you are the only one reporting people? is less people playing this game your end result you want? Are your losses less than your wins?

Think about those questions...

now let me let you know alittle about me. Have you ever pulled a body out the water? i have. Honestly afew ... i remember the first one... he was just floating there and we happened to come up on him.. looked like a murder dump.. another guy committed suicide.. he was underwater for afew months before he surfaced... we got the call.. odd thing seeing the ears and nose... guess what they are the first parts the fish eat on a human.

ever hear a mother cry... like really cry.. we where looking for her son... the grandmother was watching him.. she lost sight of him in the water and then we got the call... searched for 4 hours before we found his body floating 1 foot under the surface of the water. i was happy i didnt see that one.. but it was around 10 at night... the water is quiet.. there is little to no back noise to drown out the screams of his mother... my buddy... he was on shore with her... he use to be a talkative person till that day... took him about a month before he started interacting with us again...

you know why i play this game... Because seriously.. fuck reality.. thats why i play.. it keeps me from drinking.. it keeps me alive. it keeps me distracted. if its not this game... than hopefully i can find something else.

thats why i play..

so if your feeling get hurt over words... and you dont use the tools that are provided for you to deal with things like this that yuo have to try and get community support over your feelings and how they got hurt..

just ask yourself..

It's pretty much the same issue with people telling others they suck and should go kill themselves. Riot just doesn't consider these people a priority.

Because this zero tolerance for the basis of special treatment is ridiculous and needs to stop politically.

I also haven't seen much racism and homophobia in my games.

Actually Context gives quite a bit. If you start saying something is bad in all context you tread very dangerous ground. the system is automated and tries to estimate context to my understanding. Give it time, if the are consistent they will be removed. But be reasonable

I had games where I was sexually harassed by players and when I reported them nothing happened. Checked thier match history and they are still playing with out missing any days. The report system is still flawed but I trust riot is doing there best to fix these little issues and make sure people like this is being punished.

I had a shaco in my last game. He ended the game with around 25 kills, 15 deaths. What he would do is lurk in the jungle, kill someone, then run into our base and die to the turrets, while killing anyone who tried to kill him first.

Riot has priorities.

etc. etc.

Banning instantly merely for the use of a word instantly doesn't make sense. I agree that regardless of what the words are aimed at, they should be bannable. But that's not quite the same as saying regardless of context. There are contexts in which the words are not aimed at anything at all. I mean especially take a look at the third case... a typo could get you banned if your system was in place. One slip from one key to the one right next to it and you get banned?

What I could agree would be that Riot (as long as it is feasible) automatically sends games containing those words for manual review. Should happen rarely enough (I hope).

Probably because this isn't club penguin, you should be old enough to realize its just a word, and mute them. The fact that you are so angry as to make this post makes me think you need a girl friend or to go outside more if words damage your vagina like skin this badly.
