Update the Honoring System?

So as probably everyone knows, there's that thing after game where you can honor people and people who get frequent honors get ribbons.

I feel like however that there could be some change to this system, because it doesn't really seem like people care much about it anymore. I am very polite in game and I always try to help people out and I have not gotten an honor in so long from a non-friend. Now I'm not here to complain that I haven't gotten any, I've also noticed I haven't seen ANYONE with any type of ribbon in such a long time. I used to get a person with a ribbon in game every once and a while and I've just stopped seeing people. It has probably been months since I saw a ribbon in game. It feels like people just don't care about honoring good behavior much and don't do it, even though thee are some really nice, helpful people out there. Even though it is a single click to honor good behavior, people don't see it as worth it as much as reporting is. If a player is really bad, everyone is quick to report them and if a player is really good, nobody really feels it is worth it to honor them even though it is only 2 clicks to do it.

More people are inclined to report bad behavior than to honor good behavior. Not saying reporting bad behavior is bad, it is really good and it'll help get those bad players out of game. I think honoring good behavior is just as important and I feel like if there was some sort of change to the honoring system, more good players would get recognized.

Not sure about any change ideas yet but I'm thinking. And it isn't so much 'change', like, I'm not saying completely redo the system. Maybe update it to make people want to honor great players more, and there are some really nice, helpful, creative, funny, and just plain awesome people who play this game.

I'd like to hear what others think about this because maybe its just me not seeing any ribbons and you guys have seen some around. Idk, I just feel like it is just as important for good players to get rewarded as it is for bad players to get punished.

I do agree that the system needs serious work. Certain game modes have much lower average honor than others, without the system actually reflecting that fact. And there has been a huge drop-off in honors in general since the early days of the system.

Unfortunately, there's not much of a "quick fix" available, though Riot could at least lower the required level such that you would occasionally see people with banners again.

It's definitely a need. They decay too quickly and are earned too slowly to really stand as a sustainable system anymore. I think making them more rewarding would probably help to incentivize people to be more positive in-game, as well. It could be a much better system.

Should be easier to use... "honorable titles" should actually mean something... stuff like that. How? I'm not sure, but I've seen some good ideas floating around.
