Daily Reminder: Insulting Allies Doesn't Make them Play Better

It just makes them report and block you.

Is making one person feel terrible worth the risk? Do you honestly want to end up like the people who rant about how their ban isn't justified?

Usually when someone starts being toxic I lose the motivation to win the game... even in ranked. Nobody wants the a-hole on the team to win.

I have seen so many good players stuck in Bronze over the years simply due to the fact that they are toxic as hell to their teammates. I have to admit that I (and my other teammates) have intentionally thrown games solely due to the fact that we didn't want that asshat to win.

"Insulting people makes them play better." Hah. Hahahahahahahaha.

There's a big difference between saying "Maybe you should do this because what you are doing now isn't working." And "You fucking suck why can't you do better you piece of shit."

And the former usually earns you a happy face and more willingness on their part rather than a flame war, which the second would bring on. Even if the person you are talking to ends up being a dick, at least you are not the one at fault. Is it really that hard not to type shit you probably won't stay to strangers if you really actually saw them in real life?

I.... I...UM sort of lost it this weekend :((. I kind of got titled from playing with my friends andddddddd sort of went off on a few of my allies. Granted..... they were talking and being toxic first. But instead of fighting toxicity with silence I tried to fight it with more toxicity. Needless to say it did not help out the team.

2 ranked games ago I went offffffffffffff on my team's support. Like just came at the dude's life. And I would like to apologize for that.

But yea.... that's why you don't keep pinging me as the jungle for ganks every 5 second along with pointing out my very obvious terrible decision that cost us an inhibitor. I know I fucked up.... you telling me I did only brought my inner embarrassment to full tilt rage within seconds.

I got +1 honor opponent & +1 teamwork after the game though for explaining my side of the story so whatever. I am a HO!

Tbh, my issue with Riot's take on the topic is that they don't have a set-in-stone definition of what is an insult and what is criticism. To me, because I grew up in a blue collar family who had to work for everything they own, an insult is only something that involves some form of profanity(Such as you cursing in some way, or calling me a name - idiot, dumb ass, etc.) If you just say, 'Don't do that again or we will lose the game' That's not an insult, but that's still banworthy according to Riot(No I'm not joking). Or if you place blame for the loss on someone, that also qualifies as banworthy. How? I think stating facts, or trying to engage in debate WHICH IS THE WHOLE POINT OF BEING ABLE TO COMMUNICATE is perfectly fine. I think the fact Riot punishes so harshly over baby things is making our community, as well as our society(yes lots of you are shaped by your environment, and if your environment consists heavily of this game, then you WILL be shaped by it in some way or another) very weak and pathetic. If we cannot engage in debate, then what's the point of even letting us talk? I shouldn't have to say, "Hey bud, don't build like that. It's completely wrong!' I should be able to just say something along the lines of 'Bro, wtf are you building? That's wrong.' I shouldn't have to kiss your ass to state my opinion, nor should I have to address you in a polite manner. If I am playing a game, why should I be on my best behavior? It's a game at the end of the day, and I want to do as I please. This will be an unpopular opinion due to the fact our community is too far gone to salvage, but I truly hope games evolve from this 'anti-anything that's not hugs and kisses' mentality.
