Severe overmoderation in these forums;

I've noticed that the moderation in these forums has become straight up Orwellian.

It's one thing to actively suppress and censor people that are going wildly overboard, but even simple terms that would otherwise be common parlance cannot be uttered lest the moderation come down like a ton of bricks on the user. After all; Someone might get offended.

Does it really need to be to such extremes? can't it be somewhere in the middle rather than feminist level censorship? "Your rights end where my feelings begin" ? is that it, Riot?

Shouldn't it be the way it is in game (I.e. reasonable and fair) rather than ultra draconian style censorship and thought policing?

Edit: I came from a forum where we were allowed to discuss literally anything.

It was called "League of Legends; Off topic section". It was fantastic... the "Boards" are incredibly draconian compared to the old forums.

Ex: http://forums.na.leagueoflegends.com/board/showthread.php?t=2862586 and http://forums.na.leagueoflegends.com/board/showthread.php?t=2446265&page=1

For what reason was the old style of forum moderation(Self moderation) utterly decimated in favor of hyper feminist ultra over moderation?

Your post was removed for using the word gay as a pejorative, which is considered homophobic phrasing and isn't acceptable on the Boards. You're welcome to come here and have conversations with people and express your disapproval about something, but we do ask that you do so in a way that doesn't insult others. This is a general rule of the Boards and is enforced by all moderators.

People would like you to not use 'that's gay' as a a common phrase. There are plenty of other phrases to use, use them.

It's really not. If anything, the mods don't enforce the rules particularly well.

"Harassment and insults will not be tolerated" is at the top of the rules page, but they might remove posts with them 1/10 times. Probably less. They will seriously let posts sit there that do nothing but insult the PERSON (note: not their elo or skill level or opinion, the person himself) it's directed towards.

I once had my post removed and a 7 day ban issued for

Why don't you just all in her? She just used her W to hit you, so go in you pussy.

in response to a Kennen player complaining about Leblanc harassing him so much. So yeah, the moderation is pretty overboard.

Keep using 'feminist' and 'gay' as pejoratives and then wonder why no one takes you seriously.

Because its a League of Legends forums. So you should be talking about League of Legends, no? Also, if your talking about language moderation, its not that hard. It only takes about a half a second extra to change a word to something else. No one is going to care if you say shit, but if you are using phrases like "thats gay" or "gfy", there really is no reason to say it.
