Something needs to be done about banning champions

Im a yasuo main with a low winrate (45%). Everytime I go into a ranked game and show i want to play yasuo he gets banned by my own team or it's at least brought up. This frustrates me to no end because there is nothing i can do about. I can't improve my winrate because i can never play him. And honestly, to me, it's worse then trolling or flaming. The feeling of people having that much power over what i play just eats at me. It should be made so that your own team can not ban champions you have as your pick.

That's on you buddy. This situation is something one trick pony mains just have to live with. Maybe you could try not showing you want Yasuo, or duoing with someone who can pick Yasuo for you if he ends up higher in the pick order.

Or maybe you could main a small handful of champions instead of relying on just one; one that is starting to get a higher banrate than normal as well.

I tend to agree with you. If you have obviously chosen that champion to play, it should be locked in and only the opposing team should be able to ban it during the ban phase. I understand the desire to improve your performance with a particular champion, even in ranked games. I feel it's somewhat unsportsmanlike to have your teammates ban your champion. In my opinion, they certainly aren't acting as a team. We all have our preferences to which champions we wish to play.
