@Riot Please make "Taking the game hostage" a reportable offense

Taking the game hostage is a complicated term thats a little hard to explain but i'm gonna try.

You ever been in a game where one person just isn't being cooperative, their not grouping, their not trying to play the game they are just kind of doing their own thing completely alone, no interaction with you or the enemy? Or their just AFK farming or something, ignoring your teamates and all round just not wanting to listen to anyone?

From what i understand this was a reportable offense in the past and i don't know why it was removed i could imagine why though because it's so easy to report someone for it "Hey gank me!" "No!" "Reported" or something like that but i'm tired of being in games where one or two people just chose not to play the game with anyone else and just want to be alone the whole time, a lot of times they'll do this when their loosing and will refuse to even answer the surrender vote or something and basically prevent the game from ending. That's kind of why i call it "Taking The Game Hostage" because their basically sitting there wasting everyone time and refusing to try to end the game at all in any way, and its not like you can up and leave because thats against the rules and that same person will likely report you for it.

Rossboomsocks has a video going over this(link above) as well and i got it from him just wanted to post it on the forums so riot can get to see it easier and understand this issue.

I believe that falls under "griefing."

We don't need so many specific reports when that one category covers enough.

Um.. split pushing is a complete and valid strat.

Them grouping isn't "holding a game hostage"

split pushing can be a very effective strategy. i have seen trick2g go 0-2-0, never group once, and dominate and win the game

It is a reportable offence, this kind of behaviour comes under the "Unsportsmanlike conduct" category. You'll tend to have better success if you include notes in your report, as in game behaviour is obvs a little harder to track, but it's still reportable.

Simply not communicating with the team is unlikely to net them a punishment, as it is generally classed as a tactical disagreement, however if they are actively dnying surrender votes to waste people's time or generally demonstrating negative behaviour then it's worth reporting.

Yeah that's what i did it's just it feels like that won't reach anyone, not to mention that doing this is so infuriating so that person can just report the person who called them out on doing it for "Flaming" and it just makes it feel so hopeless against people like that in game. Either let them take the game hostage and stay silent or call them out on it and get reported too.

it wont they have to do it for dozens of games. also those people tend to have alot of shit games it would kill most players to help them have a better game for once. hell my buddy back when he played pretty much choose the perma ban because of these people that went dragon and he ended up losing with nasus cuase he was one q aa away

riot went on the record saying the reason chat was hyper focused was because it was easy

Actively denying surrender votes is not a reportable offense. If they verbally say that they are denying surrender votes to troll people, then yes, it's reportable. But if someone declines a surrender vote, you have no grounds to report them, first and foremost because it's supposed to be anonymous beyond knowing who started it.

I was under the impression that was the kind of behaviour he was getting at, but I suppose I may have assumed. Naturally denying a surrender vote alone is not reportable (well technically reportable, but certainly not punishable).

This is why I main singed. When I want to play a norm I can just split push and make good plays. I don't have to group up with any bronze players feeding it down mid 3v5 then raging, and if anyone is disrespectful on my team I can just afk farm it and watch them feed it.

Are you referring to that bronze 5 game that lasted over 4 hours? People in the same club were on opposite sides etc.

No but that sounds cancer, i had this happen to me last game where a Jinx had fed really hard in the early game, no one really flamed her they just said "Hey play safe" but she was flaming the shaco for not ganking (typical laner thing sometimes, i was mid btw). So the shaco decides he's not going to gank anyone, not do anything and just afk farm all game for no reason, he refused to enter any teamfight or help anyone, even if they were right next to him and would frequently go into fights after everyone died and die himself. So now this jinx is duoing with someone on our team, i don't know who but she was and she decided that she was going to do the exact same thing, afk farm, refuse to do anything, over all just be uncooperative 3 people refusing to surrender while not even being involved in the game and just how do i report that? There isn't an option for it and it's super tilting and just really toxic to deal with.

jinx shouldnt have been such an ass. shaco has that right because its the only copeing mechanism has left

I trully love when Im behind and I take the game "hostage" while my team doesnt give a damn that im behind and keeps comming to my lane to steal my CS and I keep running of to other lanes to farm so I can get back and they keep following me and later I get reported for "Flame" for saying "leave me alone ffs" or "Get off my farm"... Or reported for "Refusing to teamplay" even if this "Teamplay" will throw me even more behind and will lose the game faster...

So basically... It's already a repotable offence and punishable, because I am clearly "passive aggresive" when I tell someone to get off my farm pre 20 mins... and you bascially wanna make it a "repotable" offence for when I even dont speak at all and somehow anna get back to game and they still piss me off and force me to afk farm till I can go back and start killing bad guys? Well... I should upvote this then... Thanks.

Trying to get back into the game and completely ignoring the game are two completely different things. Your never forced to AFK farm, i'v found the best way to get back into a game is be the first one to clear waves when a lane is full of minions, then immediately return to your team and help them. You don't have to sit on an island all game and pretend like there aren't teamfight, objective taking and defending going on because that's you playing a team game alone. Especially if your sitting there not answering the surrender pop up just because you want to get back into the game by farming for over 30 minutes making the game go on for an hour when the rest of your team just wants it to end.

1 wave, if you're behind is complicated. If you got 1 item and enemy has 2-3, you will die instantly in the TF, so you're best off avoiding back guys and getting back in shape than suiciding, because someone doesn't like that you "AFK" farm... Plus one hour games are more interesting and complex than the 20 mins push and rush... Plus more iP... quit complaining... You prove your skill in such games, because te more skill full build team wins the glory...

But to do it when your team is trying to get objectives, trying to win the game and every fight they get into their at a dissadvantage because you want to sit in a lane and not even push it just farm it. That's fucking stupid, it's a team game and playing it completely alone without any attempt to assist your team should be a punishable offence.

Um... no. You are actually showing how little knowledge you have in regards to the game (just checked 25% winrate and would be bronze if you continued to play). You shouldn't be fighting a 4v5 from behind and let the person work the map or if not group on them.

Soooo my ELO has to do with a person being toxic? I often play splitpusher's myself but i certainly don't afk farm because i'm behind, ignore surrender votes, intentionally feed and ignore the entire game. I'm sorry but i just don't understand your battle here, all your doing is trying to say that these people are simply split pushing when their not there is a VERY big difference, split pusher's are helpful, a person who refused to play the game at all isn't and even more so when they refuse to help end the game.

These bronze absentee jungle bots need to be banned NOW!!!! sick and tired of this shit.

...however, if you are matched with a troll squad which repeatedly sets you up to die, runs away full health mana, and/or pings you to help dangerous situations, and then leaves turrets open, and then posts "group up" when enemy is successfully splitting lanes, and wants entire team to stand and waste time when there are no wards and there is only 2 enemy players in that lane. then you can go f yourself I'm not 'grouping'
