The community as a whole needs to stop fearing Toxicity.

Now im not gonna call people that dislike toxicity snowflakes. Different people are different and some people just dont wanna hear that shit in their games. And thats fine.

However i draw the line where people are so afraid of toxicity that they fear things that might be misused for toxicity.

Like Missing Ping: I saw someone yelling at Riot for joking about it being misused. Riot like anyone else, should be able to joke about what their community is joking about. And a lot of people make fun of missing pings being used for toxicity. (Dont see anyone complaining when Riot is joking about Feeding Yasuo players)

Like Emotes: "WTH Riot you are giving toxic players a way to be toxic?" No Toxic players dont need a way to be toxic, all they need is a reason. And if they find that reason they will do whatever they can to be an asshole.

People need to just accept that. Now im not saying accept toxic people. Just accept that they exist. Because Riot shouldnt have to not implement good ideas for fear of toxicity.

In fact you should be happy if they have a way to vent. So that you can easily find them, mute them, and report them.

I would much rather have someone missing ping me/? Emoting me. Than having them flaming in chat, or int feeding if those are the best ways to currently show how to be toxic.

The only things that should ABSOLUTELY never be tolerated in chat are death threats, threats of any kind, racial slurs, and other blatant hate speech. Everything else is simply mute worthy and not worth saying x9 this guy plz etc you get the point.....

The issue is no one understands the difference between someone actually being toxic or someone just being an asshole. An asshole deserves to just get muted, and toxicity is much rarer than most people realize.

People who can't deal with few assholes in a fucking game should just get off internet for good and play with barbies for the rest of their lives.

League of Legends has the most confrontational playerbase compared to several other online games I've played. It's just from the fact that the majority of players' initial reaction to almost anything is a negative one.

This is true even for a lot of positive/honourable players. One guy dies twice in lane, puts only 'GG' in chat, and everyone loses their mind. It's not even a possibility to people that this player was just joking. In other games I've played the typical reaction to this situation would be a simple Lol and it's over. Whether they're toxic or not just accept it. When anything remotely negative is said in a League game, the people who end up tilting the game aren't even the toxic players, it's the rest of the players on the team who are being so sensitive to the tiniest thing

They don't "fear" the things you mention. They just want tools to manage their experience the same as they do with chat. Sometimes they ask for these tools in a logical way; sometimes they ask for them in an emotional way, which is - as you mention - perfectly fine.

Riot hasn't removed pings or mastery emotes. They provided minimal throttling for pings and that's it. Riot is also expanding on emotes (probably as a counter to HotS' sprays). Good ideas aren't being discarded at all, much less discarded out of fear.

I understand that this is just what you think, but many people just want to enjoy the game without dealing with the fact that LoL's community is a toxic wasteland almost every game. Asking those people to change or learn to deal with toxic players doesn't feel nice to them and is only giving more importance to toxic players when the problem is that there are too many toxic people who don't always get punished like they should. This is just what I think, by the way.

in one game i said one thing in my teams chat " do you want to open?" and i had 3 people screaming at me for being toxic and asking the enemy team to report me,i was not trolling or anything i just asked that.
