If you don't want people to post stupid questions like this multiple times a day then stop calling the policy an "unban."
People are going to see that we are calling it an "unban" and assume that means his accounts got unbanned. They are going to ask this very question, and it is going to annoy us to no end. So don't call it an "unban" call it what it is instead. It is a revoked policy of banning on sight.

It's not special privileges, it is the removal of a special ban. Regular players do not receive this sort of ban in the first place because a normal person isn't as fucked up and selfish as T1.
And he's not getting his banned accounts back anyway, the only thing that has changed is that now when Riot discovers that an account is his they don't instantly ban it.

Everyone is allowed to make a new account after being permanently banned. Tyler just got banned so often, even that privelige got revoked.

Maybe it was because a rather large part of the community continually vouched for his reformation, and requested that he be given consideration. Riot does listen to what it's players want. Whether it's a new type of champion, nerfs to a specific champion, features in the client, and maybe even just giving a very popular streamer one last chance. Sure, in the beginning, right after his ID ban, it was a bit of a meme and a joke, and I don't think anyone took it seriously. But over the last 6 months or so, Tyler1 himself has done some genuinely decent things in game, and when respected members of the LoL community begin to vouch for him, maybe Riot listened.

Riot isn't playing favorites, his banned accounts have not been unbanned, he will never get them back, just like other players who have permabanned accounts will never get those accounts back either.
