I average 2.5 honor per game
I was already honor level 3 this season, flamed hard 1 game, now I'm honor level 0. Since I'm currently honor blocked, my question is are the 2+ honors I'm receiving every match while I'm chat restricted going to waste?

Those honors will help you unlock your honor progression.
Right after a punishment, your honor progress is locked. You cannot gain any honor until the lock is lifted.
The honor lock persists for a time that is based on how often you are validly reported.
Once the honor lock expires, you will gain honor normally.

Honor in this game unfortunately doesn't hold any true meaning other than to get free stuff and a badge that quite literally nobody cares about. On this account, I've got little to no history of actually being toxic with very few exceptions; managed to go from honor 5 to honor 0 when I went on break for Christmas, came back to January and found that I apparently was toxic. (Never muted, never banned, never suspended and no negative marks on the profile. Although, I have been suspended on the forums.)
Little did I know, I thanked my team for leashing me blue buff with a joking: "Ty for the leash %%%%%"
Not only did I have a positive attitude that game, but my teammates liked me and even participated in banter - and I did nothing wrong to the enemy team.
So yeah, one little thing like that will not only put you from honor 5 to honor 0 but it also bars in a temporary 3-6 month period of not being able to actually gain any honor with a something called the checkpoint system:
Checkpoint 1 / 2 / 3
At the point of checkpoint 3, you can then begin gaining in honor; sooner or later getting the free stuff that you want.
But again I'd just like to remind you: The honor system literally means nothing. I'd much rather choose freedom over being lured into some shitty relationship with a company in China so I just got an account where it doesn't matter if I'm toxic or not. (I'm not toxic, but hey - at least I can be if I want to be.) Now I just don't even talk to people on LoL and refuse to communicate, good job - I sure learned my lesson?[sg-lux-2]
So the question is: Do you REALLY want to change your behavior which will result in a lesser quality game for you, so that a multi-billion dollar company can waggle a dollar in front of you as if you were in an insurance commercial? Why exactly do you want Honor in the first place?
