Just want to on-the-record say what happened. Just came off a chat restriction (I'm not toxic but I defend myself when people are being toxic to me which = me being toxic according to lol). I take 30 seconds at fountain at the start of the game while 3 of my teammates invade. All 3 of them die. I get blamed for them all dying, and proceed to get harassed for the ENTIRE game. Kept telling them how rude/immature they are, to calm down because its a game, and that them being toxic makes other people not even care to play that game anymore. Him and his friend both reported me at the end of the game. I'm sure I'll get some sort of punishment because riot doesn't care what the other people had said to you, they just look at your chat logs and assume you are being toxic.

they don't assume you being toxic, the system verifies that you are toxic.

false reports get thrown out, and counter attacking them is not defending yourself.

They assume you are being toxic in that scenario because you are. Pointing fingers and saying "but they did it first!" is the logic of a child. Just mute them, report them, and move on.

Context does not matter, even if you are "defending yourself" you are still making the experience even worse for the other non-toxic players in the match. If you continue that behavior you will move up the punishment tiers which go like this:

10 game chat restriction 25 game chat restriction 14 day suspension permanent suspension

Your first problem is not using the mute button. You are only encouraging them when you interact with them. That is what they want and you have it to them. This is the reason why everyone who comes on these boards claiming they are defending themselves we will always tell them the best way to do that is to mute and report after the game. You give them evidence when you talk to them when they are the ones who should get punish.but you feed them every time you hit that enter key!

It's not that Riot doesn't care what other people do. there stance is that you shouldn't retaliate because (like in real life) it almost never works and will usually result in both parties getting punished. You are responsible for your actions and yours alone. Doesn't matter who started it you should be the bigger person and end it right there by muting them!

Defending yourself doesn't need to take half a game and counter the logic of someone who's completely off their hinges.

A simple fuck you, muted. Works wonders.
