Made a new account and saw how New players are treated (its disgusting)

So I decided to make a new account, to grind it up and help new players. I get into blind pick and bots and the level of snobbish, "better than thou" attitudes towards new players is disgusting. People flaming and degrading new players for not knowing how champions work People patting themselves on the back as they brag about how hard they "Solo carried" (good job, you solo carried and left teammates behind so you could laugh and mock them) even had a miss fortune who pulled a "why does league pair me with this trash?" while in 5v5 blind.

No, I am not a new player myself, But I do not hold my nose in the air. I try to help genuinely new players. While more and more I see this community turn its nose up in the air, the vile sense of arrogance and entitlement that they seem to think permits them to tell a player who maybe doesnt know how mechanics work about how trash they are. Cursing the heavens for daring to pair them with new players in blind pick instead of the challenger teir pros they feel they deserve.

I have watched this community flame and degrade new players because they dont know how mechanics work, because they dont know how a champion works, dont know how to ping. Or just have a bad game and die alot only to be flamed and told how they need to be reported for "inting"

I actually did have a good game yesterday because I actually helped "mentor" a player....someone who had not played the game sinse 2013 and so was completely unfamiliar with the changes made to the game. I helped him understand the changes (such as why IP was gone and how come he wasnt getting IP after every match...and why it was changed to blue essense)

At NO point in time did I look down at him, see the player as Lesser or beneath me. which is apparently more than I can say for the majority of this community, which has come to see themselves as some form of royalty, and seeing new players as the disgusting peasants which they lament having to be associated with. As I grind through a new account and try my hardest. More and more I see veteran players who are too busy thumbing thier nose at the new players rather than stopping to help them understand the mechancs, understand how the game or their champ works. They would rather leave the new players to flounder so they can mock and degrade thier team (in my last game had a veteran brand/MF goff about how they totally "2v5 carry" while MF continued to ask why she got paired with trash in blind pick.

I am gonna help the new player again tonight, we had some good games and I helped them understand the changes. and once the player reaches 8 I can help them understand the runes. I have been playing sinse Season 3. But it seems most of the community forgot that they too were once the "Trash newbies" that they seem to dispise now that they are lvl 30+

How many games did you play before you started noticing these kinds of toxic players?

On the account, I am currently lvl 7, but it started at around lvl 3. I duo'ed with someone new so I could help explain the changes to him and while people were flaming him, they even started going after me. And this was after I even said in pre-game lobby "this player is new, I am helping them" explaining why we were duoing, and even he was shocked that this random person who apparently thought they were so good, started flaming him and Me. (Him for being bad, and apparently me for helping him while not playing at a pro skill level myself...unable to escape an ambush where we both died)

That explains it perfectly. Once riot detects that your a smurf (good CS score, warding, lots of kills, etc), then you'll start getting placed against other smurfs.

On one hand, it is a shitty system for people trying to duo with a noob friend, but it is also a great system for protecting solo new players.

Regardless, I am simply trying to help these new players understand the system, how the game works. And in the meantime you have players who are "smurfs" but are more than happy to flame and degrade a player for not playing as good as them. I still try and help new players learn the system, at no point do I see myself as "above" them or "better than thou" Its more about the attitude displayed towards new players. Someone could say they are new, play like new, and the community will still shit all over them because they dont play like an LCS Pro right off the bat.

Solution: don't queue with the guy so that he isn't placed against self-righteous smurfs.

So...your solution is: Stop queueing with the player to help him. Just let the smurfs talk down to new players. Yeah because degrading and insulting new players for not knowing how the game works does WONDERS to help make the game better.

Sorry No, he has said he appreciates the help. Its the community's problem to fix, not his.

Have him play 10-15 games by himself and then report back on how it goes. I'd bet you anything that those games won't have nearly as many "toxic smurfs" as you're talking about.

again all I see is "He is a new player, dont help new players" He has said he can laugh it off, but the fact still remains you are giving the players a pass as they continue to degrade and make the community look worse.

He is saying don't queue with him if you don't want the player to be placed with and against smurfs, because that's what the system has likely identified you as.

If you want him to be queued with and against actual new players you need to not queue with him.

So you are going after Me for helping a new player than acually addressing the "smurfs" toxicity towards Genuinely new players.

Just dont help him? Dont pay attention to the toxic community, just dont help the new player and they Maybe wont have to deal with toxic smurfs. Not a guarantee. Fix your community before you come after me for trying to help a new player.

Alright, that's your choice, I'm not going to force you to do anything. I've explained how the system works (people smurfing or playing with a smurf are placed against smurfs), I've told you how to solve the issue (don't duo with him so he isn't placed against smurfs), and you're choosing not to take that course of action. That's fine, but you have to understand that it is infinitely easier to avoid the toxic players instead of magically changing every single one of them to no longer be toxic.

If riot could just wave a magic wand and make every toxic player no longer be toxic, they would, but it's not that simple.

Just because you can't duo with a new player doesn't mean you can't help them either. You can spectate their games while in a voice chat call (E.g. Discord) and help them with questions. You can go over to their house and watch them play the game and help them out.

There are two options, neither perfect, but both would avoid the toxic players that you are talking about.

idk man i'm lvl 11 and some games feel like i'm playing on my main (gold 3). Oh wait, riot matches smurfs against smurfs :D

I dont know. All I know is that I am a veteran player who tried to help a new player (well, new-ish. He hadnt played the game sinse 2013 and with all the changes to the game I think he qualifies as a new player, there is still alot to explain...like runes, as stated) And more and more games I see other veteran players (The MF in my last game was grinding a new account because in her own words "i told a guy to "neck" himself....and got 2-week banned" and she was going off about why she had to be paired with trash players in 5v5 blind.

I know I used to be a new player. And want to genuinely help new players. The level of arrogance and snobbery I am seeing is rediculous. New players being flamed and reported for "inting" when they barely even know how the mechanics of the game work. They are being told how garbage they are for not going 15/0 at lvl 5 accounts and told how "Trash" players they are.

Most of the low level people are permabanned toxic players trying to get to 30+ again. When you get to 30+, the number of toxic encounters drops drastically.

The new players are kept separate from the smurfs.

Smurfs play against smurfs.

New players play with new players.

It's not ok for ANYONE to be degraded but giving people the light at the end of the lvl 30 tunnel is something to keep new players hopeful?

So just because they can reduce the toxicity directed at them from a community that thinks everyone is a god-teir lcs pro, They should put up with the hatred, degrading, and flaming for Not knowing how the game works because they are new players.

"i know you are new to the game but just endure the people calling for you to be banned because you dont know how to play X champ and this community calls EVERYTHING as inting. But hey, at least once you reach level 30 it will be reduced by about 45% But still plainly evident. But untill 30, enjoy the snobbish entitled attitudes of players who see new players as "beneath" them"

Riot has permabanned people to discourage them from playing again but ultimately as this is a free to play game, the toxic players can create new accounts over and over. What do you expect Riot to do? Seriously, put out a suggestion instead of complaining about something we all know already.

You're upset that toxic players exist on the internet and Riot has tried to permaban them from the community but they keep coming back. What is the point of you complaining about this? At least this way, the ultra toxic players usually don't make it back to lvl 30 again on their new accounts.

Hell man, I've done the same thing with enemy players before. Biggest example was a fiddle jg that had taken smite, but was playing with out jg items.
