STOP Calling -EVERYTHING- Trolling/Greifing

HavokDash·4/3/2018, 2:41:53 AM·22 votes·2,175 views

This community has become a bunch of fragile little toddlers wrapped up in thier own sense of superiority. Every game I have to listen to little children scream and cry because the team wont do what they say.

Someone doesn't play who you want? Not trolling Someone doesnt go where you demand they go? Not trolling Someone doesnt build how YOU want them to? Not trolling.

it has become so bad that EVERY little thing is now labelled trolling. Everyone is too busy trying to flame their team and let thier team know just how hard they are gonna be reported for 'trolling' People spend the entire game and waste more time telling the team how "trash" they are and how they will be reported for "greifing" because they they dont follow a single player's gameplan. "You dont play/build how -I- want you to play. You wont Build/play according to MY gameplan so I am reporting you for trolling. Enjoy ur ban"

I am so sick of seeing this entitled sense of narcissism. That a player is gonna be banned because they dont play according to ONE player's schedule. This is a TEAM game (or so I have been told, Not that I believe it anymore) and so There should be a willingness to hear all strategies and ideas. But everyone is so hung up on the "Solo carry" attitude: "Im the best, I am a gold/plat/diamond smurf. I will carry this trash team. I am OP" Everyone is so wrapped up in themselves that they no longer see their team unless they need someone to blame for the loss.

Players will run solo, act like they dont need need a team, and yet as soon as they get outplayed and the opposing team works as just that....A TEAM.... The solo player will then play the "where's my team?" card "Omg team is so bad, such trash" or "report my team for trolling" This is why I have lost all respect for ranked, all respect for my teammates (Teammates? thats a joke)

The league community is too busy patting themselves on the back and saying "I'm too good for this team" (not through words, but actions as they completely ignore their team) that most games end up in a loss and then the player will turn around and call for reports on thier "team" for trolling because it is convenient for them.

This community is so eager to label EVERYTHING as Trolling/Inting/Greifing. That I really have no interest in considering this a team game.

So go ahead, begin the downvotes and "I looked u up, ur trash" comments. This community will use ad hominums and SOLO stats on a TEAM based game as an attack to Discredit players rather than actually accepting the community has flaws. But I really cant care anymore. If Everything is trolling, than nothing is If everything is inting, than nothing is If anything is greifing, nothing is.

League has now become a free for all, 5 solo players on one match competing over who is the most OP by chasing "most kills" and calling "ks" on their teammates. rather than 5 players working together to focus objectives and destroy the nexus.

Blah, you guys are just as pathetic as the trolls in game, everyone is always crying about something. I even read some say something about afk farming jg. Yeah, this is the fucking reason I don’t play jg anymore. You aren’t even allowed to do your first clear anymore, or you are “afk farming”.

News flash princess, but the jungle isn’t your fucking slave. Another favorite of mine is getting flamed everytime some idiot on my team dies. I am ganking bot and top decides to engage and die, now the whole fucking team just starts to flame.

And RIOT will punish you for telling the trolls to “STFU” before they punish them. Here is a genious idea, how about you que to play instead of queing with the expectation tjat sone is going to carry you. And if they can’t the match isn’t their fault that you are so heavy.

Yuk, this community is shit anyways and I play the fame less and less nowdays. Snowball every match plus the usual round of toxic asshats just got old.

I mean these idiots will ban me for telling a troll to fuck off, but said troll doesn’t even get chat restricted for threatening to kill me and flaming me the entire mstch.

As long as you're trying to win you are not trolling.

However, if you go Nunu smite support and leave your ADC, not even buying a support item, that is trolling If you go AD Ahri or AP Tryndamere and you don't do well that is definitely trolling

If you're obviously not trying to win, or trying to win at someone else's expense (In the Nunu example, you trying to win is interfering with the ADC trying to win, as now he cannot since he must 1v2. You have taken that option from him.)

Off meta is totally fun and I love doing it. But there's an extent. If you want to do AD Ahri for example please run it by your support first. They have to be stuck in a lane with you. Or better yet get a group of friends. Support Veigar is off meta but it's still an efficient tactic. Its just not the Most Efficient Tactic Available. Garen support, however, is not an efficient tactic at all. It does not have to be meta but it should still be et.

Otherwise, yes totally. People need thicker skin

Ok but if their gameplan is the right gameplan and you do some retard shit instead then I would say you are trolling, there is only really a couple right calls for each situation, usually only one, as for builds or what champ you pick that's not trolling.

don't forget the people who do not know how items or champions work

you're the tank? why are you on our back line?

assassins that try to delete a tank

people that go in blind against a blitzcrank

people that forfeit a team fight because one of the carries dies

people that decide to farm jungle or randomly go after dragon while we need to push mid

and that was in season 5 and earlier XD I'm sure there are worse things to do now

I didn't read that but I have to say if you don't dive into 5 people with me 2v5 you're trolling. If you're defending the base from superminions while I'm trying to 1v3 in the enemy jungle with 2 inhibitors down you're trolling. If you miss smite at all you're trolling. If I smite my buff early and you accidentally take my jungle camp on a leash you're trolling. If we have a 3/14 Aurelion sol on our team and I die at all during the game as the carry, I'm intentionally feeding, and sol is just having a bad game.

I don't understand how you don't get it.

What if your adc goes rammus takes smite on purpose grabs jg items and just flat out goes into the enemies with no purpose? Lol this happened to me yesterday, weirdly enough we won because I went leo support so essentially I was leo adc and did pretty great got the most honours and got shot calling at that :) games are winnable with a clear troll lol.

Well, what about my Mundo top, that built Spirit Visage first vs Fiora lane, and 3 other AD champs in jungle / mid / ADC?

It really depends on context.

Is a player just having a really bad game and tilted off the face of the earth? That is understandable, and should not constitute trolling.

Is a player angry, and building a deathcap on Riven? That's not an off-meta build like AP malphite, IMO that is pretty blatant trolling. (For reference, Riven has no AP ratios)

Is a player upset that their jungler didn't gank, and is using Azir to solo splitpush a lane that has an open inhibitor, and without wards? Despite the fact that his team told him to not do so, that it's a bad idea. That he is currently alone in bot lane when baron is also up. That is trolling. It may be passive aggressive, but it's nonetheless blatant trolling.

It's simply unfortunate that half the community has difficulty differentiating between said passive aggressive trolling and stupidity. It's more unfortunate that Riot's algorithms are also incapable of doing so, which means the passive aggressive "Imma stop trying" sort of trolling is essentially never punished.

another match lost because our top lane was too busy flaming the team and bragiing about all his kills. Doesnt ping MIA unless its spamming "enemy is missing" on his teammates. Then calls to "Report mid for intentional feeding" People cant tell the difference between intentional feeding and being outplayed. So because he lost his promos, renekton takes it out on his team by calling for "intentional feeding" reports on mid laner.

People apparently don't under stand that slang changes over time from what it originally meant your trying to define words that were never defined words in the first place.

I was once having a bad early game in norms (I'm unranked but probably low silver high bronze) and got accused of inting. I've never been so baffled that even if I were why would that matter since it's low level norms... Edit:also I get it isn't good to int but why get mad is what I mean.

I'm sorry to hear yet another person finally reaching pretty much the end of their rope about this. I've been taking some time to think but it pretty much all boils down to instant-gratification and an unwillingness to adapt to any given circumstances as "meta" is assumed to be all-defining, regardless of what the reality of any situation may be.

I was laughing my ass off in a recent game. I notice my team all declaring their intents to not go tanky in the pre-game lobby. Okay, well, I am mid but I should be able to reasonably play something to fill that...screw it, I'm Bronze V, I've both seen and done worse picks in this exact scenario before and won. Mid Darius. Not ideal but whatever. I mean, since I can force a win from going Mid Tryndamere against a Le Blanc and a Trundle that's silly enough to waste time trying to gank me for so long that the rest of my team eventually scaled, then it stands to reason that Darius would arguably be MORE than useful in a team already FILLED with actual damage. Plus, this account doesn't have as many champs as I'd like it to. Almost entirely melee roster, and was banned out of the "better" options of the stuff I DID have.

So our Yi invades enemy red after he finishes his blue. I go to help, he gets the buff, I ping him away from the Jax and Annie (who had her stun prepped at this point), and Yi was low on health (as was I) and we could have safely left through top tri-bush as there was a clear and guaranteed safe route to leave. He walks DIRECTLY INTO BOTH OF THEM WITH FULL VISION well after I pinged him and already was leaving, suiciding First Blood and giving up the red buff I helped him secure for himself.

He then starts raging at me and calling me a troll and says, "I don't play with trolls", proceeds to steal every bit of farm from my lane and leech experience from me until I am forced to leave to hopefully help both top and bot going with a roaming gank or at least relieve the pressure so they can farm up a little more comfortably. He KEEPS DOING THIS TO ME at every opportunity given. Soon enough I'm 3 levels behind (and still falling behind further until close to the end of the game) and I am forced into an ENTIRELY tank build, can't even build Black Cleaver for waveclear because I'm being two-shot even with rushing magic resist and health against the Annie since she's got several levels on me. Catch-up experience is basically not a thing the entire game since I keep having everything stolen from me by the Yi.

He just farms jungle and waves all game, won't push blatantly obviously open and free lanes, won't help get dragons or baron, only padding his KDA and minion count when it's convenient to him, not to actually help win the game. He claims me and the Bard support are duo'ing and claims we are purposefully feeding/trolling the entire game long, and he avoids fighting the enemy at all costs if it means we slowly lose as he puts up a surrender vote every single time the game lets him.

I was practically pissing myself at how spiteful he was but we all kept 1/4'ing his surrender votes and I tried to support our Nasus as best I could since he was the real carry that game. We just couldn't do it. It was a valiant effort and I appreciated everyone keeping a level head about the situation (although Nasus kept begging Yi to help as it was a guaranteed win if he'd just get over himself).

But no, I was the troll. I was the one with a gross KDA and terrible CS count and under-leveled and didn't have a "proper" build. Yeah, 'cause you went out of your way to sabotage me from 2 minutes into the game! Like, it was genuinely funny to watch! I wish I could save the replay on this junk computer but it won't download for some reason.

So yeah, of course people are on edge all the time. We are all capable of over-reacting and as much as I fudge things up, at least I own up to it when I realize...yeah, that was me being stupid. That was me not realizing one thing or another. Yeah, I guess I should have just played a champion that probably would have gotten gibbed by that Annie anyway, but because I picked Darius because we needed someone to build as a tank (since the Nasus wasn't going to, at least, not quite the tank we would otherwise have needed him to be), maybe that Yi wouldn't have had a mental breakdown if I had been dying while playing Syndra or someone else that traditionally goes mid lane. Maybe it's just a perspective thing I failed to catch.

But hey, down here in the cesspool, it's all a crapshoot anyway. I've been beating myself up for a while now and just having this comically angry person gave me some much-needed laughs, despite the deliberate trolling/griefing he just loved to accuse me of (and our support, to a lesser degree).

I honestly hope things get better for you. For everyone. League is in one weird-ass place right now.

But, for now, I think I am okay with playing Ranked with a clown fiesta because, if nothing else, I learn how yet another person thinks. I enjoy figuring things out, whether it be about my own flaws, or just what could possibly be making someone else go ballistic, I can't honestly say I'm ever BORED of this game. God no. I might get flustered and upset before things calm down, but has this game EVER gotten boring to me? Never.

Fegone4/3/2018, 8:04:21 PM1 votes

While I would agree that people call a lot of things trolling now, on the other hand, you also have a lot of people just behaving outright nasty. When I started league many years ago, I didn't get called a f*****, nobody wished death and cancer upon my family, and I didn't get told to kill myself at least once per day.

what do those things have in common? I dk man, maybe it's just illustrating that the community as a whole changes over time. I bet in 5 years from now people will look back and say: well back then they were calling everything a troll, but at least they didn't do blablabla back then...
