Reminder: Riots Report policy isnt a rulebook.

Riot themselves have said many a time that, they dont know what to consider not okay. Instead they take feedback from reports to figure out what a majority of the players consider "Not okay" This is evident by the fact that the report options change frequently.

To this extent Riots Report Policy isnt a set amount of Rules, but more of a guideline.

And if someone is getting a large amount of reports game after game, They are probably doing something people dont like.

In the recent "Nunu Smite Suppoty/Jungle" Example. He is usually defended with the excuse of "It was Off-Meta" But 50% of games he played he got at least 1 report, shows that he is doing SOMETHING that people dont like. Off meta strats dont garner 50% report rate.

Well that is overly rude, holy shit.

The only reason this thread exists in the first place is because people are dumb as hell and think. "Riot these reports were faulty because this protects me"

If you are being repeatedly reported, RIOT WILL punish you. You are doing something to upset a lot of people.

Dont be dumb and i wont have to make dumb posts explaining simple logic to you.

EDIT: and trust me i checked there is plenty of posts people make that are just plain dumb.

This post is actually saying: Stop using riots "rules" to defend yourself. Riot punishes people based on feedback, not breaking rules.

riot breaks their own rules. if theyre not tru just get rid of them. just say they bann off of the stupidity of others and how they report and nothing else. i'll have no problems. just stop being hypocritical and lying about it. :/

and if they didnt ban off of the rules then what are they there for. no one is using them as a reference for what is bannable :/

Anyway the rules still apply, they just arent 100% every time. If someone receives HUNDREDS of reports but keep using a rule as a sort of loophole to get away with making those people have a negative experience. They still get banned because the rules are guidelines Tristana

no when they piss ppl off. ppl piss me off when they dont listen to pings. when they over extend, get caught and die then complain. i hate it when ppl pick a whole comp of champions with no initiation. but i dont report them. cuz honestly in the end i have to focus on my own gameplay. what's best and most fun for me.

and half the time when ppl refer to the "rules" they justified. and honestly if theyre called rules, theyre probably rules. and are just treated as guidelines. and if everything is just guidelines then there are no rules and if there are no rules then ppl are just getting mad over what they feel like. and its justs unorganized and chaotic. the rules are rules.

The issue is Riot really didnt want to ban the Nunu, usually shitty behaviour gets you banned after somewhere between 1-5 reports depending on what the person is doing in games.

But in the Nunu and Singed cases, while both are being defended with "Tactical Disagreement" they both received HUNDREDS of reports before riot did something.

People act like if they play something off-meta every couple games they get banned, but these people needed HUNDREDS of reports. So while yes they are technically guidelines, they are still followed VERY closely.

if they didnt want to ban him then they shouldnt have. i doubt you know what riot was thinking and i doubt the "hundreds" of bans this nunu got were justified. i'd like to say none of them.

riot needs to find a way to encourage ppl to work their best with their team and not rage at something so dumb especially if it has considerable numbers

i dont believe this nunu has found the resident sleeper op pick that's gonna raise everyones mmr. he's playing something the best way he knows how to win. had this been in meta and he'd done what he did he wouldve just been called bad. but he picked something different and it peeled the crust off of ppl eyes that had caked on there from repitition due to metas. and the ppl didnt like looking at something they couldnt comprehend and so they reported it. not becuz it was wrong. just different. i wouldnt call this nunus strat with the winrate it has wrong no more than literally anything else. thers a legit-ness to it obviously or it wouldnt have the numbers it does. ppl just have a stick up their ass

I do believe that the first rule is that Riot can and will punish you [Applicable via warning, mute, low-priority queue, temp ban, permaban, or any other applicable account restrictions] if they deem that you are toxic to the game's health. All of the rules are derived from this, the goddamn Summoner's Code is primarily derived from that, and it's been their modus operandi for the entirety of League's history. It's what they do to champions and players alike. The rules and their punishments are not set in stone (except for a select few, such as: You cannot knowingly and deliberately imitate a Rioter in a realistic manner (jokes=okay, actually pretending to be a Rioter=not okay)), and have never been. They can be as lenient or strict as they deem the situation warrants.

Riot's policy of not banning for being off-meta is to prevent people from being banned for trying something new that looks like it might work, be it item 3072 on Nasus , Akali jungle, or Kindred support (all things I've tried, been yelled at for, and found varying degrees of success. The first one=very good, second is iffy, PLEASE DO NOT DO THE THIRD ONE EVER! IT IS TERRIBLE!). Being off-meta is perfectly acceptable, otherwise you'd be banned for playing a champ that isn't considered "OP". But committing suicide in champion select, by deliberately picking something that obviously won't work, THEN commencing to fail to play properly, and fuck over your team? That, if nothing else, is intentionally sabotaging your team.

tl;dr: I agree with you, OP, I'm just ranting about what idiots have said, and elaborating on your point.

WRONG, Riot has stated many times that through the report system Riot learns what is not okay behavior in league of legends. The "rules" people are throwing around to try to prevent getting banned can be bypassed if many people report you as you are doing SOMETHING wrong.
