LoL Community is not worth more than 5% of my Effort

The more I play this game, the more I realize this community is NOT WORTH my full energy In matches. This community is Only worth about 5% of my effort in matches. I really no longer see the benefit of wasting my full effort on a community of 'children' (behaviorally speaking) who:

  • are only interested in how may SOLO KILLS they have, even happy to sacrifice teammates so they can jump in and score in some post-mortem cleanup kills. And they are happy to brag about how hard they are "carrying" even as the enemy team destroys our base.
  • are happy to find ANY excuse to label ANYTHING and Everything as Greifing, trolling, Toxic, Intentionally feeding, etc....no matter how far they have to stretch to make that connection.
  • see themselves as "above" or "better than" their team (in the same way Royalty would look down thier nose at a peasant) and look at the rest of their team with absolute disgust for not "carrying them"
  • see themselves as "god teir" and thus expect everyone else to play to their own expectations. If they go for 20/0 KDA and fail, thats ok. But they will ream you out and flame you to oblivion if you even DARE go 0/1
  • even see NEW players as "trolls" and are happy to report them and get them banned for "inting" because they dont know a particular champ or mechanic. Oh and they are very happy to tell you how "absolute fucking trash" the new player is for not playing to the standard listed above.
  • Only consider this a "team" game if they need a reason to blame someone else because They didnt go OP and lost the match due to showboating and ego (Just had a Yi player who ran solo the entire game. went over 30 kills by sticking near a teammate, Sweeps up last hits with Q and then BOOKS. Spends the entire game taking kills and running, leaving teammates to die. Then says we arent playing as a team for not wanting to be around him. Blames us for the loss while bragging about his 30 kills which he achieved off the corpses of his teammates)

For this reason I have decided to limit my effort to about 5%. I see no reason to put my full effort towards winning a match when I know that 9/10 times its gonna be lost because people would rather chase thier Solo kills, artificially inflate thier kda so they can get that "S grade" and brag about how they are "carrying" while the actively avoid towers, actively ignore dragons...Or worse yet, happily abandon a dragon and give it to the enemy team so they can go chase a solo darius at the other end of the map. I am not throwing, I am not greifing. I am just choosing not to waste energy and effort when people would rather run around and throw the chess pieces at each other rather than going for the checkmate (Nexus destruction). Again and again people dont want to actually win as long as they can chase kills and brag about double digit kills. They will sacrifice thier team to secure kills for themselves and run all over the map chasing cosmetic kills (Looks good, but doesnt do anything to actually help the team. Rather chase the easy solo kill TOP lane casually farming, then try and help the mid laner being 3-man pushed and losing lane fast) and then turn around and talk about how they "cant carry this trash team". People seem to want to treat the game like a free for all, all that matters is competing for who has the most kills. And they only pull out the "its a team game" as an excuse when someone wont jump through hoops on command, to throw themselves at the enemy so an already fed yi can score +1 kill while the teammate is left to die (and lets not forget that there will also be calls for "report our X, Inting" at the end of the match)

So Yeah. I am done trying to call this a "team" game, so dont give me that BS. Its NOT a team game. Its become a place where people dont want -teammates- they want WITNESSES (as In "Bare witness to me and how amazing I am, look at all my kills and tell me how OP I am"). With this Kind of community I am being generous with 5% and before it comes up, I am not throwing. I am just trying to win alot more lazily. Still trying to win, and if it happens it happens. But I dont see any reason to waste energy and effort on this community.

seems like it'd take quite a bit of effort to write a book for us

Mabye if you put in more than 5% effort and try to carry games you would climb and get out of bronze :) I know this is coming from a B1 but I think that just lets me talk from personal experience, being that I started in B5 And I get your point that in 1/10 games you will get this, but if you try to work with your team. If you complain about people taking kill then play jungle or support, and give them kills to let them carry you If no one comes into a teamfight with you then dont try to 1v5 because if 4 people say no, its probably a bad idea You complain about it not being a team game when you dont even work with your team, Just a bit of advice for you coming from a climbing bronze, Try not to get too worked up because in all elos there will be trolls and inters but if you look past the stereotypes and focus on pure gameplay, you will definitely climb! Good luck!

TL;DR Can you limit it to 0 percent instead? thx

If you would like better, more team oriented teammates I recommend climbing to a higher elo, which generally requires some effort.

If you're not gonna bother giving a double digit percentage of effort, then why bother playing anyways?

afmghost5/14/2018, 12:20:25 AM1 votes

Is it worth 4% though?

You just described all the ppl who are simply not good enough yet. That's why they are in bronze, you see. Players in bronze don't know very basic stuff about the game, you can't blame them for it. You can blame them for flaming you tho, I guess.
