This community makes me physically ill.

The level of narcissism and entitlement, the sheer fog of smugness and arrogance is sickening

People dont want to work on a team game, they play this game so they have 4 "Witnesses" to "how great AM I" so the spend the entire game calling everyone else a feeding noob, call them trash, call them garbage. Tell them how completely fking pathetic they are. But if they get a kill or two, they get a free pass. Players are so wrapped up in themselves, they see themselves as that good, they dont give even a second thought to thier team. Its all about THEM. They steal a kill from someone else? "get gud scrub, u sukk" Someone steals a kill from them "OMFG report X for KSing me, gg Im done, I'm afk"

They kill someone else "Hahah I am too good. god u sukk so bad" Someone kills them "Wow you didnt kill me, it was lag"

If a teammate gets bogged down in CC, they dont say "Sucks man, CC4dayz" they go into all chat with "Report X, for inting" The whole team can ping baron, needing it to win. And arrogant players who ignore the team as they run top to farm the 3 minions threatening to bring down a FULL HEALTH tower, leaving the rest of the team to get ambushed in mid. And when asked why they didnt help, the response is "I might have died with you" As a support I can get my adc a triple, keep them alive and pull them out in one piece. Then be told how "Nah my support didnt do anything, That triple was all me"

This game has the absolute Worst community, and people are happy to give it a pass. And Dont put icing on a shit cake by telling me "well we have the report system" Yeah the report system might not have to work as hard if people were actually willing to call these people out. But instead the attitude is "Well he got more kills on your team so its ok that he treats the rest of his/her team like shit. Its ok if he degrades and tilts his own teammates by telling them "stfu u got no kills, ur garbage" Its ok because he got a penta.

Nah you people time and time again repeatedly defend these children who are happy to tilt thier team so they can feel special. This community really is worse than the garbage they seem to give a pass.

Its ok if your team treats players like shit and reminds the rest of thier team just how worthless garbage they are, how they deserve to have thier throat slit. Its ok for teammates to wait for teammates to stand in one spot for longer than 10 seconds before railing in /all chat about how "X player is Afking, report them.....its ok, as long as they carry you.

Time and time again this community as a whole seems to have no problem with players treating thier team like shit, you are happy to give them free passes. And you wonder why this community is getting progressively worse and worse. Players calling for thier "Trash teammates" to be violated, killed, etc (I had someone tell me "you deserve to be raped infront of your family" and told to "go slit ur throat"

But its ok, if they can get a triple, they deserve a free pass. Right? Enjoy your disease community, keep defending that title for "#1 most toxic community" You earn it well.

Now just waiting for people to ignore the thread about the TOXIC COMMUNITY and twist it into "ur mad cuz bad" (yeah I know I suck. Again, doesnt give a free pass to the skilled players telling me I deserve to be raped infront of my family because I didnt play to their expectations. They expect challenger play, I played at Bronze/silver)

Absolutely agree. Sometimes I feel like the majority of my teams are children trying to prove more to their teammates that their better than them. I just don't understand how players trash talk their own team like its nothing. It's sick how bronze, and silver players trash talk other bronze, and silver players. Makes no sense. I don't care for it, never have.

as I said, I have seen people unleash the most sadistic, disgusting comments directed at NEW players. They flame new players for not performing well on a champ they are playing the first time. they flame players who have no idea how a role works, no idea how a champ works, no idea how a particular game mechanic works. they will tell people how they should be raped, killed, how they should kill themselves, how they deserve to recieve the most agonizing diseases...and again these are directed at NEW players. and No one calls them out on this. Not even telling them to lay off or something.

The fact that you get this worked up over people typing words to you in a game says a lot about you. You actually need help, you have a mental illness. No mentally stable adult would ever become "physically sick" about somebody typing words to them online. Seriously bro, get help. It's not normal to go through life getting upset and words like this.

well every single pvp game has a ridiculously toxic community , but when its the most played game in the world AND it is competitive pvp , it obviously has the most toxic community

Now , what you said in your post is actually true , but I myself don't act like that , well i got a better attitude and it helped me , instead of thinking im so good but mates hold me back i currently rather focus on myself to try to play as good as I can , and if other lanes feed i dont care i play my game and try to win , if i feed i mute the flamers and try playing safer , tbh that really helped me im not high elo , but i made it to gold in like 2 weeks or so when i was stuck silver for almost a whole year , just watch your replays focus on yourself AND DONT FUKIN FLAME you can make plat easily even if you're not good imo ( well it seems so , maybe ill be stuck gold now ) , I mean sometimes I tilt , but its not due to my teammates feeding but rather when for exemple they take my jungle camps without asking ( i isually say yes when ppl ask ) , flash to steal things .... well THAT actually is still ok for me , but when they taunt you right after i just tell them to stfu , mute them and report them , kinda helps to calm down tho . When you're tilted try doing what faker does :p that is move your shoulders and crack em , it sends a small liquid in your neck that helps you staying chill , when you jsut lost a game in a "tilting " fashion then take a break for like 15 min , if you want to keep tryharding right after , eat something and if you can go out for a while , if you keep a positive mentality and watch map a bit , you should climb easily .

OH I understand that NOT everyone is Like that, BUT at the same time. A community is represented by its most vocal majority. And when League comes to mind, the usual phrase that comes to mind is "Great game, WORST community. The most toxic, vile hateful stuff you will ever see" and is that really how people want thier community to be seen?

I remember playing a match where my adc was a sivir who said right as soon as the match started "this is my first time playing sivir, sorry if I suck." and Not even 10 minutes later, our mid laner was telling the "trash sivir" (his words) to "uninstall and go jump in a fire" I tried to remind them that "sivir said she had never played the champ before" and was met with "stfu u suck just as bad"

So yes, In a game that requires communication and teamwork, it kind of shoots yourself in the leg when the only way to keep your sanity is to mute your team, and yet alot of these players will call for reports on teammates for "refusal to communicate" or "greifing".

For a TEAM based game that requires teamwork, these players are quite happy to take a blowtorch to any possible teamwork in order to make themselves feel good. They are happy to publicly skewer anyone who doesnt play at the skill level they expect. (as I said, I will ADMIT I suck, I try my best, but yes, I do screw up) However the Moment I happen to get ambushed, cc-chained, and passed around like the town bicycle among the enemy team. Instantly I can expect that someone will call for reports on me for "feeding" or "Inting"...even if its my first death (Going 0/1 after getting 1v4'ed is now intentionally feeding)

I have seen people who are more interested in stacking a 14/1 kda, yet wont touch the enemy towers. But the moment I try and go for the enemy tower, apparently thats me "not knowing how to play the game"

Or Having a Malzahar freely give up 2 dragons (as in sit there and watch them take it) and tell me "Stfu noob, dragons dont win games" Only to have the enemy team take a 3rd dragon and....WIN THE GAME.

I try to be positive, but I have lost all faith in this community. People are too busy patting themselves on the back and bragging about how "OP" they are and how "dumpster fire" thier team is. Watch the map? I usually play from the mini map. I try my best to help new players. But this community is so full of itself that I wouldnt reccommend this game to anyone Unless they enjoyed being told to go kill themselves in the most graphic and horrifying ways immaginable by players who think they are better than the people that Made the game!

And as I said, people on the forum will just give these people a free pass. "Well I checked X's Kda and they are gold, ur just mad cuz you sukk" So what? so its ok for gold/diamond/plat players (or whatever thier rank) to tell NEW players to go immolate themselves for not immediately being pro at a champion they have never played before? WOW WHAT A SHOCK. A Player happens to suck at playing a champ they have never played before and have no experience with"

I am trying to say, Do you Enjoy being lumped in people like these who sound like Murderous psychopaths in the making. Do you enjoy having to repeatedly say over and over "...But I am not one of them". Do you enjoy needing to seperate yourself from the loudest majority of the community ? Rather than saying "I am part of the League community" you have to add on "But I am not one of them"...

Yes League is a good game, But it sickens me that when I talk about it, I have to bring up the glaring point that League has by far THE WORST, MOST TOXIC, HATEFUL community. Yes, NOT everyone is like that, but again...it is defined by its majority, and the level of sickening hatred spewed even to new players by veterans who expect challenger-tier skill from "first time" players is quite disgusting.

Lit Corn1 votes

I obviously dont think its ok , i was just telling how I myself answer to that , but why would I tell someone to kill himself ? like even if he was the biggest bastard ever and i knew him irl , i wouldnt tell this , so in a GAME ??? this is fukin absurd, in fact i dont have a lot to answer to what you said , this is the sad truth for 90 % of the players in league .

HavokDash1 votes

and Yet people will use the excuses "well u just sukk" or "ur just salty" in order to dismis this arguement, downvote the thread and go back to pretending the community has no problems. That the only people bringing these issues up are not trying to fix the community, just salty cuz "they bad"

More and more players are being immediately labeled "intentional feed" if they cant outun a 4v1 CC-chain. all I ever see is "Feeding, they fed, report X for inting" Yes inting can happen, but the moment someone dies the first time, these people are wringing thier hands for that high. I have lost count how many times someone would label me an "inter" for being buried under CC and they immediately jump to "Enjoy your account ban" Thats what they want, They want someone who didnt play to thier standards permanently banned from the game. Not for trolling, griefing, inting, etc But simply because, like me, The reporting player expects challenger-tier skill, the target plays at low silver/bronze. So therefore they are unworthy of playing the game and deserve to be reported and banned.. New players that dont play perfectly on thier first game, are also reported and these people are eager to jump to "enjoy being perma banned"

This is what the community has become, and people will downvote and ignore because it bursts thier bubble of a perfect community with no issues/flaws.

So do you make yourself physically ill as part of this community? Yes there are people like that but I find it far from reaching even perceptive majority. Then account for how many players play this game and you have just bad generalization that tried to shift some pointless "point".

Its ok if he degrades and tilts his own teammates by telling them "stfu u got no kills, ur garbage" Its ok because he got a penta.

No, this is not ok, this can and will get someone summoner 11 ed.

Again, doesnt give a free pass to the skilled players telling me I deserve to be raped infront of my family because I didnt play to their expectations.

And this will get someone banned the first time it happens.

That said, I see where you're coming from. Seems like the only way to ensure you don't get torn apart in chat is to make it a policy to /mute all every game, which is a form of handicapping yourself.

I've said it before and I'll say it again: Riot isn't serious about player behavior. We've been in this awful situation for years now and very little is being done except for bandaids.

HavokDash1 votes

Yes In a game that requires heavily on communication and TEAMWORK. People will say the most horrific, vile, disgusting comments if people dont play at a "pro" level. and then when that person is forced to Mute the player, the toxic individual will go into /all chat and say "Report X, Refusal to communicate/greifing/refusing to work with the team"

And I can only think "We got screwed over because this donkey with an ego goes off on an edgy toxicity tyrade towards a player, then acts suprised when the player doesnt want to jump through the toxic player's hoops. I have to tell people You sitting there flaming your team isnt going to help It is only going to Stress the player out, and make them play WORSE NOT BETTER

and for my effort i get told to "Stfu and stop being a whiney b*ch" Yeah because people wanting to feel special by intentionally going out of thier way to tilt thier teammates off the table is really gonna help improve win conditions...We get it, ur uber hardcore pro. These people are so wrapped up in the idea of "Im the best, I am the solo carry, I get all da kills" That the resent thier teammates, see them as competition, something to be stomped down

I mean I've had some pretty great games as of late, sorry to hear you haven't been half as lucky. Every competitive gaming community has an element of toxicity to it, from fighting game players raging over spam to every FPS player that calls someone an aimbotter, it's all pretty shit. You gotta sift through it, but you don't have to do it alone because there ARE plenty of good community members who are willing to be patient when you screw up royally, help you when you need it, sometimes even stick up for you against the flame.

If you really need to, play with everyone's chat muted because unless it's ranked you never need to be in the chat, just need pings.

Bronze 6 Yasuo1 votes

I agree. Just had a tryndamere 2 games ago that was calling me a 'fk noob' because I was 0/2 in a hard matchup and started verbal abusing my team every time they made a mistake and it was level 20 normals...

HavokDash1 votes

Yeah I have had games like that, where you could be learning a champ, doing good and...Oops, you missed an ult...flashed at the wrong time, etc And rather than try and help you improve, these players will instead take that mistake...or any mistake, and use it the rest of the game to constantly beat you over the head with it. Had a match with a Xayah Adc who flamed a 1/3 Galio mid because he screwed up on a flash, calling him a "Feeding noob" and telling the rest of the team how "utter trash/garbage" they were, How I (her support) was a "useless fking idiot" She ended up going 2/6 before we finally surrendered.

Xayah spent the entire game talking about how "Garbage" her team was in order to make herself feel superior, then goes on to complain about how she lost because of the "feeding noobs" on her team. totally didnt have anything to do with her launching toxic firebombs at her teammates the entire match, and repeatedly demeaning/degrading everyone to puff herself up.

The examples in OP seems like child's play to me, considering I had to have a chat with a player just yesterday about how being negatively biased and judgemental to a certain nationality of people for no reason in-game is not only a bad display of manners it's also irrational. We never agreed with each other in the end, as they still believed that holding their view (which as I'd pointed out to them, is ultimately very small and skewed scoped) is just being truthful and "real" like some The Red Pill or Politically Incorrect subreddit stuff where most of them seem to be ruled by their confirmation bias driven outlook rather than the legitimate researches they'd claimed to have done.

Speaking of TRP and PI subreddit... oh boy, now THAT is something that would actually make you physically ill, along with other even more questionable subreddits.

I say, overall, League community like the gameplay trolls we so often run into, isn't so bad after all. Not sure if that's a good thing or a bad thing, though.

HavokDash1 votes

I have had people tell me in games "you seriously suck, like...go kill yourself" and when when I call them out on it, they respond with: "Its not toxic if its true, so you cant report me for that"

And I have been watching these people since i joined. I mean it wasnt that bad in previous seasons, but it seems like sinse season 7 things have just gotten off the hinges, people more happy to say the most horrendious things to players, especially NEW players. They give up a kill? players want them banned for Inting they dont perform perfectly on a champ they have NEVER played before: they are obviously greifing and need to be banned Someone stole Player A's kill? well they need to go kill themselves while thier family is violated. This is the sorts of things I am seeing. and the thing I am noticing is people tend to just kinda "meh, its a tuesday, downvote and move on" Rather than actually trying to improve the community, people just say "it is what it is" and just let it get worse and worse to where new players who arent even level 10 yet are being flamed for not having Keystone mastery, for not having smite, etc. (YEs I have seen these) This is what the community is degrading to.

SEKAI1 votes

Yeah I definitely see where you're coming from.

At the very least, more people should learn from the Corki I also had yesterday, where while he was salty towards the feeding TF on his team who went something like 2/8 right off the bat and continued to feed (not int) and ended the game with 18 deaths, he made snarky and non-malicious quips instead; and so while everyone knew he was salty via a funny way to let off some steam, we were all more or less having a good time, or at least it wasn't a bad time (even TF himself enjoyed it, considering their hilarious bantering was broadcasted live on /all chat).

Like, salty and funny salty are cool, but then some just like it EXTRA SALTI, which is just bitter and frustrating aye.

Arachnoquake1 votes

This community is pure shit. :)

HavokDash2 votes

Thats what it has become. The community is unwilling to help new players, instead kick them down and treat them like shit in order to get some sort of "im better than you" high from telling NEW players to go kill themselves for not knowing how to play a champ (well), for not understanding certain mechanics. Not knowing roles, etc. And the rest of the community tends to just give these players a pass if they have a "good KDA"
