Permanent bans should be received for people who are REALLY toxic; Not just because they're Assholes

Disclaimer: I've never been chat banned, permanently banned, or banned of any sort, besides a leaver buster in the past because of internet issues

You have plenty of games where you have someone going "GG, bot lane sucks" "Dude your garbage" "Stop playin like shit "Im better then you"

Now while these people are assholes and should be chat banned, and even up too a 14-day ban. I don't think it should ever go past that if the worst thing they say is "Your a shit player, I'm better then you". Obviously they're toxic, and should be punished but I think ever punishing them with a permanent ban is kind of ridiculous.

Punishments should be in tiers Tier 1 - Chat ban, Tier - 2, Even longer chat ban, Tier - 3 14 day ban, and thats as high as it gets. Permanent bans should be reserved for players who are REAL ASSHOLES, who say homophobic slurs, racial slurs, things like "Kys", who grief intentionally, etc.

But just being a general asshole every game, should never escalate beyond that, while I don't like those people, permanent bans would be much to harsh.

Because the current system is Tier 1 - Tier 2 - Tier 3 (14-day ban), then Tier -4 Permanent ban, even if you were only Mildly toxic in game like the worst thing you said was "Your shit", which would normally only get you a small chat ban after a couple of games, of that behavior.

Thoughts?

Riot's goal with punishments is not just to remove their ability to chat, it's to reform players. Riot does not want toxic players in the game period. Not with reduced chat, not with no chat, they don't want toxic players at all. That is why players are given chances to reform with punishments, ultimately culminating in a permanent suspension. It's Riot's way of saying "We do not want you to play our game anymore".

They've tried longer term chat restrictions/bans (non-perma) before, and all it resulted in was a more sly, under the radar form of toxicity from players (and/or no reform at all). The current system generally works (for chat, not for trolling but they're working on that right now).

You have to be really toxic to get a perma... If you just say stuff like "you suck" you have to to it in nearly every single game in ordr to get a perma, and you also need to completly ignore previous punishments. You are not "mildly toxic" if you get a perma with that, you are really, really toxic, a complete jerk.

How would you proceed after a 14-day ban?

Don't bother posting on this board. It's contaminated with people who insta-report and send in a ticket at Riot over the slightest negativity. They will grow up to be those people who call 911 and by-law for people who park on the street for too long
