When is Riot going to start enforcing the need to coordinate in champ select?

The game starts the second you click accept. Especially if you have first pick, it really is not acceptable for you to alt tab out while a teammate is frantically trying to tell you to first pick a current OPFotM champ only to be entirely ignored. With how snowbally this game has become, win/losses most decidedly happen in champ select. If you can't spare the extra 5 mins to participate in pre-game coordination, then you most certainly do not deserve to play at all. At least in ranked.

Never. Everyone can play whatever they want.

Hey man, I respect that we're teammates and all, but you do you, man.

And I'll do me.

Oh, so you have to play the champ that I tell you to play? That's a nice strategy. And you want Riot to punish you if you ignore my commands. Sweet.

so....you would prefer a teammate to play some current FotM that he may or may not be familiar with or even own over a champ that he is comfortable with?

and you don't expect that "request" to be ignored?

If you start to tell me who I should play, I would mute you the moment the game begins...

No, I do not believe Riot should force this on players. It is the players choice and responsibility to prepare for the upcoming game and communicate effectively if they want. Is it annoying when someone doesn't pay attention and bans your champ? Yes. Is it annoying when they do it on purpose? Yes.

If you ask me to first pick a champ for you, I will try and oblige. I will even try to help if the first pick has my champ but not yours, doing the multi trade so long as they choose to do so. If you want to hide your pick, if you ask I'll let you grab my champ first then instead. It is player responsibility; which is why I try to always say "rune/mastery/summoner spell check" during pick phase.

I can only think of two ways the game is decided in champ select, of which one is more of a gamble than straight up loss. 1. Multiple people are already flaming each other in chat. 2. Going with an all ad/ap team.(This one is a gamble.)

With my piece being said, there also stands no right to say who can and cannot play ranked because of or lack thereof communication in ore game. Especially since, in my experience, most lobbies are silent asides a greeting and my check.

Doesn't it boot you out of champ select and count as a dodge if you fail to pick/ban in time?
