Should S-rank boxes still be restricted from punished players?

The reason I ask this is because everything is tied to the loot system now, even regular champion unlocks, plus honor capsules exist.

At this point, it seems like not being able to earn the S-rank chests is just stacking a punishment on top of a punishment, and losing two different means of getting champ shards/essence kinda sucks when unlocking anything now has an element of RNG or heavy grinding.

Not being able to earn honor capsules seems like plenty to me, especially since those take less effort to get.

Just my two cents.

Leveling isn't tied to being honorable/./... Champion capsules are separate than loot boxes yeah?

Leveling gives you champ capsules, which isn't tied to honor.

For perspective on that, leveling to 30 only gets you ~20300 essence worth of BE/champ shards.

Unless you plan on buying a ton of the cheaper champions (which a lot of players likely aren't going to do because a lot of them just aren't interesting or are outdated), that doesn't get you much. Even less if none of the shards you get are for champions you like.

The majority of the game's champions cost 4800 or more BE. Literally, there are more 4800 champions than there are 1350 AND 3150 champions combined.

champion capsules are tied to levels not punishments. honor capsules and loot boxes are rewards and tied to good behavior

If you're dishonored you can't get keys, so what does it matter if they get boxes when they can't even open them?

ehhh i dont see the point in the boxes 90% of the time u get a champ shard worth nothing or a skin shard u cant unlock cuz riot nerfed the OE> lol i have been honor lvl 0 for 5 months and i hardly talk in games only to say GG... thats it i have 27 boxes and counting since i cant get keys lol

I don't know, I'm just annoyed that I FINALLY managed to get an S rank, only to have it mean absolutely nothing because I recently got off a chat restriction.

I'm not really that good a player, and I'm probably not going to get another S rank for who knows how long.

Why should I even try to do well if I know it's a fruitless effort? I could literally just troll games without saying anything reportable until I can earn stuff again.

Could, mind you. I wouldn't intentionally troll, though. I give myself enough flack for playing poorly as it is, I could never intentionally do it.
