So about LolWiz/Overwolf

I have thought about using lolwiz as it looks really useful so that i dont have to have leagueofgraphs open nonstop to check current builds. But with current third party bannings i am reluctant.

Overwolf states they worked with Riot to make it available in there ToS but i am still nervous. Does anyone have just LolWiz can confirm wether or not Riots system has ever banned you or something for just it?

Also does it tell me current ban rates so i know who i should ban? I have been sort of out of touch and confused these last few patches.

(No idea why Riot told me to put it in Player Behavior but whatev, sometimes i think riot changes boards without changing the names of said boards)

Ban waves for this go out every few months or less, and each time people claim and guess that it's Overwolf or other various VoIP and overlay programs; it's not those. As long as you make informed decisions about what programs you use you'll be fine; well, as long as your account isn't being used by someone else and you aren't playing on computers with the illegal apps/mods.

Check out these posts for more information on Riot's 3rd party app policy and what kinds of applications are ok to use;

Hey there!

Sophie from Overwolf here. LoLwiz or any Overwolf app will NOT get you banned.

We are working closely with Riot Games to ensure that all the apps we publish are aligned with their Terms of Service and their 3rd party policies. Our apps do nothing more than a second monitor would do for you and do not interact with League of Legends.

Hey everyone! Just wanted to chime in, since someone asked about our thoughts on this. LoLWiz, in it's current incarnation, is no different from visiting OP.GG or LolNexus or any other similar site. The only real difference is that it is displayed via an Overwolf Plugin, rather than a web page. It's powered by the Riot API, and no questionable access the game client, so as of right now we have no issues with using this app and will not frown upon players who do so.

That being said, we reserve the right to change our stance on this, if in the future the LoLWiz app adopts any functionality we find to be harmful to player's experience or the game's ecosystem. (Though if that happened we would first attempt reach out to LoLWiz and try to course correct things there, instead of banning players.) Also, naturally, we can never officially condone or promote the use of any third party tool, as we can never guarantee your game stability or safety in doing so.

TL;DR - It's not directly affecting the client, as it is a component of Overwolf and not a game-mod, so you won't be banned.

Beat me to it. i was going to link to this same post. As outlined above, it's legit to use Overwolf.

LoLwiz doesn't inform you about the current ban rates because this app starts working when the game is loading (meaning after picking and banning champions).

Overwolf is trusted by pros like Cloud9, Team Liquid and Logitech Gaming.

Make sure at all time that you are using an Overwolf app by downloading it directly from our appstore available at http://store.overwolf.com/apps/
