Personally, I believe that this kind of behavior needs to result in an immediate punishment on the first offense. Saying "gg ez" or anything like it after a win is NOT a slip up, or a bad day, or a mistake etc. It is a true showing of a person's character and shit sportsmanship, and should be shown zero tolerance.

Gaming sports, unless your at a tournament ,worlds for example, sportsmanship isn't as common because it's just some punk behind a screen. Not face to face. Trust me if it was face to face, I'm sure most of us adults would be pretty intimidating to a lil punk who thinks they're a bad ass.
I personally just ignore/mute those kinds of people, and if it's bad enough I report them. But being in my 30s and once being a little punk I just go on with another game I rarely report, unless like I said it's bad enough.
Just have the moral high ground and do the necessary steps to try and stop this kind of behavior. Riot doesn't have the man power to watch literally thousands of accounts, which is why they have the automatic system. Is it perfect? Hell no. But it's a stepping stone. There are watchdog programs in other games that automatically watch for key phrases and words and automatically punish said person, riot just needs to implement something like this.
TLDR: kids will be kids, just remember that. Nothing they say will effect what you do at all, unless your just the kind of person that gets tilted over stuff like "words".

It's just going to continue. I wish riot could be more strict with these people but all they have with their current system is allocations by players no hard evidence unless you send them logs, vids, screenshots, etc. Those 3 things can almost guarantee the person being looked at. Will it happen immediately? No. But hard evidence us better that a typed report after a game.

You analogies also are very bad. There are players of this game just like there are players of actual sports. Buffs and nerfs are like evolving rules that govern the game. And just because they occur more frequently doesn't mean that this game shouldn't enforce good sportsmanship. That's all there is to this. Sometimes there are penalties, sometimes a coach (youth leagues) will have the wherewithal to bench the player to teach them a lesson, and in pro sports, there's almost always a fine associated with unsportsmanlike conduct.
And if you are playing pool in a bar and the shit talk gets out of hand, you should expect a pool queue to the eye. It's one thing when friends trash talk each other, but when someone you've never met shit talks you over the internet, there is a problem.

Most people don't aggravate it into the physical fight realm. Instead, many adults know how to either ignore or stand up for themselves verbally without having to rely on telling the bartender to solve the problem for them.
Youth Leagues are not like solo Q. Youth Leagues are more like smaller competitions where there are still coaches and teams. And yes there is sportsmanship involved there.
Solo Q is more like playing pool in a bar where it's a nonstructured game with no coaches. Trashtalk is a common occurrence in most bars' pool tables.
I don't trash talk people in game, and I don't think it's good behavior. I also don't give a shit if other people do so, and I think that we should all learn to be a bit more thick-skinned.

How about we start an experiment? How many times is spamming in game acceptable....I'll give you 3-5 times each game.
Now, Since I've never been punished on any of my accounts I propose I start a new one and starting from the beginning I spam not more then 5 times and no less then 3 times in-game "GGEZ" ? IN each game, starting bot to whenever we conclude this experiment.
Rules that will apply we must have a neutral Rioter of your choice in on this, No one but those in on this, know what name I take...I want the Riot employee and Moderator >"TheCurator " because this person is neutral to this experiment.
Then we really see how much of an impact it has in-game...I'd suggest that after each game the new me plays, Riot conducts a survey of sorts...
If this appeals to Riot and you W, we make some sort of contract that this new experimental account I am willing to make has No impact on my personal accounts...Although, we may both be surprised by the survey.
I also ask, that before we begin, Riot confirms my accounts W/O giving any info away, and we may have a bit of say in what the survay includes, Riots Discretion of course.

Through all of my years of training, real sports are just like League when it comes to toxicity. The thing that separates the two though are consequences. There is always yelling and arguing. I had to break up ALOT of fights. I have had to defend myself in fights. Also, there will be many occasions where someone much bigger and stronger than you (AND HAVE FRIENDS on standby) that will say, "That was easy". They will also get in your face and yell it at you as if you are a piece of shit.
When you walk into a competitive environment, assholes are just apart of the ecosystem. You have to learn how to control yourself and learn how to deal with it. Just saying that a game is easy should never ever be punishable in any game or sport.

Sports are NOTHING like League when it comes to toxicity and sportsmanship. In sports, if someone (ie a coach) gives you criticism, you had better fucking listen, or you're done. Benched. See ya. In League, if someone criticizes you, just mute and report, and chances are the criticizer will get banned. That's just one example, I could go on, but I have better things to do. And it's not assholes that I'm worried about. You'll never get rid of the people that say shit like "drink bleach" or "get cancer", but saying "ggez" is just disrespect for the game, the players, and the competition that this game tries to create. You don't do it in sports, so why would you do it here?

Ok, fair enough, but the way you said it sounds pretty grand. Few, if any, world famous athletes would be so pompous as to say something like, "I've been the mvp on every sports team I've ever played on in my life." First off, it's a game. And why should I be banned? I have never gotten a chat restriction or ban. The worst I've got is a long queue for dodging.

1st off this was 2 years ago ! Second, I and many don't believe that alone should stand as a punishment in any single game. Who would?...If used enough times in inappropriate times yes It should be a consideration.
However, these 4 letters and the meaning of such, can become ban-able in many ways, easiest I can think of is spammed. Besides which it Can be an indication of things to become, as the more I read this board the more I could learn how to confuse the conclusions of being banned.
