Riot- are you planning on adding a "disable allied pings" option?

I think it would be a great addition. 90% of pings nowadays are unhelpful spam that screams "I want to flame you but I dont want to risk my account". And since it's so widely used and accepted by the community in this manner, I think a disable allied pings option is a must.

Before people say- "what about helpful pings?". Imo you lose less by muting pings than chat. Most pings are obvious and can be discerned by being observant(such as people missing or on the way, or even flashes if you use f keys), but you can't really ping "heads up we are rotating top after we take this tower and shove in the next 2 waves" in any clear way. Either way, you dont lose enough for it to not be beneficial to players who want either option.

Edit: I wasn't clear in my main post, I'm talking about a feature similar to the disable allied chat setting they just added.

So, how long before we have a "Disable Player Queue" option? Pardon my sarcasm, but I can't help but feel that this constant escalation of pruning communication tools is just going to lead to people wanting to completely forgo playing with other players entirely.

I've been a part of many, many discussions involving team communication and the consequences of removing aspects of it (specifically chat), and the general consensus is that the bare minimum of communication tools is pings. I personally believe that chat is also a necessity in communication and team play, so I'm a little more than chagrined about the existence of "Disable Allied Chat", so I have to ask - why are we trying to cull communication now?

Your reasoning is that you believe the majority of players abuse pings. In my experience, a fair handful of people do that, but the majority of players tend to use pings properly. But, at the end of the day, why should everyone suffer because a few bad apples can't be bothered to behave? Why should we just start stripping all of our communication tools away, leaving people with players who have no ability to cooperate with others because they don't see chat and don't see pings, just because some people are assholes?

There is a mute pings option. That's the equivalent except they can still ping things if they need to.
