A swain main concerned for his VGU update

I feel Swain is already near perfection, sure his E feels plain and dull which makes sense that part would need a little bit of work.. Maybe his Q as well, but other then that he feels perfect to play, he is not out of the meta at all and he is normally picked by most people now a days. If I may ask though.. What is the point of him needing a full VGU? I see nothing wrong with his current kit, he's not even that weak if you learn him.

Any other Swain main will understand and probably fears his VGU as much as I do. Don't mess it up, Seriously.. He's usually the only champion I play, changing him entirely will most likely make me disappointed. Don't do it for the sake of damn change.

Swain is my #1 mastery and I fear for his change too. Most full VGUs change their ultimates (poppy, sion, ryze etc.) and Swain's ult is the most iconic part about him. Also will he keep the bird-man theme in his gameplay? So what can be done?

I guess because it's on such a low cd relatively, his ult can be changed into a basic ability after some numbers adjustments
Not sure how they will change ult then since the drain tank uses alot of power budget
New passive? but that will mean lower mana costs on abilities
Beatrice must stay somewhere. She's just as iconic as Swains ult.
E definitely can change. Boring and click to win. Just free DoT. I both fear and am excited about the VGU, but that will come out next year probably

Agree completely, all we can do is hope. Looking at all the past champions who have been changed lately, they never have listened to the player bases feedback and completely changed the champion into a completely different champion just with the same name.

I wouldnt say that for all the past reworks. There are some that I think managed to keep the spirit from the old champ (like Warwick), than there are some that couldn't really keep their old mechanics for (mostly) balance reasons (Poppy couldn't keep her old ult, because it took too much of her power budget...well and the rest of her kit wasn't really that appealing beside from her E, which Riot kept intact on her), but ofc there are some other who just got changed for no real reasons (for example Taric...he really didn't needed a complete new kit, I feel like they just wanted to make it more flashy).

Old Poppy passive was nearly as broken as her ultimate, but it was changed and became her W passive. Q remained mostly the same as a low CD %HP damage.

Riot previously mentioned that Swain is suppose to be a "Master of Tactician", but instead, he's just some guy who facerolls his keyboard with EQW, presses ult & strolls around the enemy team hoping he does some damage or spams Zhonyas to be useful.

Technically speaking, he isn't very unique to use which doesn't matchup to his name.

If you ask me his rework moved him from an okay but dated position into an incredibly awkward spot where the only reason he's able to work is because they compensated for bad mechanics with stupid numbers. Either your enemy's immobile and stand in your little Q zone and take ridiculous damage, or you're stuck auto attacking waiting for your cooldowns.

You seem to not know much about Swain from reading what you said, yikes. Rarely do my enemies "Stand" in the Q, they only back away from it so they don't take the full damage. The only way they would be "Standing" in it is if a Swain lands his stun, laying his Q down after with a E, allowing him to achieve his full combo. At least play the champion first, he offers more to a team then you think, I find his team fight beautiful. The thing I like about Swain is how rewarding landing his stun can be, it can really change the tide of battles. Nothing feels better then reaching level 6 and using his ultimate and seeing him transform into a bad ass bird. Thanks for your input though, I guess.

He's my main mid laner, sadly I'm a support and filler so I rarely get to play what I actually want. The issue stands that most of his damage is front loaded into his Q ever since the rework made E maxing suck (Which was the right thing to do), which means a lot of the time in fights since people can usually get away from your Q-W pretty easily and it's on a big cooldown you're generally just stuck ooga booga-ing with the AOE on your ult.

I love him being the big man bersker bird that runs up to people and rips their faces off instead of pussyfooting around with cowardly burst like most mages, but he's still in an iffy stat-ball situation. I may hate reworks 90% of the time, but I honestly think he needs one at this point.

I slightly agree. I love swain and everything about him but I can see where they're going with the update. I will agree he's a little dated but I believe there are so many more champions that need much more help.

He's actually incredibly strong right now... he's 53%+ win rate everywhere I look. I share your nerves, but I also want Dragon Master Swain. I think the thing to do is just keep posting and say we love his playstyle, so change the tactician bit that doesn't fit. I think that's our best chance at preserving the playstyle that we love.

Hey why is everyone talking about Swain VGU? Did Swain get confirmed for a full VGU soon? I know Ghostcrawler sad that he is not a going to get reworked now. Did that change? Also I think that Mordekaiser deserves a full VGU more that Swain, cuz Swain is at least playable and he is so much fun to play as he already is.

It's a pretty interesting idea, but I don't know if it's the best for Swain. Would work great on a soldier-type character for Demacia or Noxus though.

I'm sure choosing the place to set your fortification is the commander's (or general's in this case) thing :P
