3 to 2 Surrender

Ive been playing league for about a year now. While i know its not as much as most people, i feel like ive experienced quite a bit of what the game has to offer. The system being mainly based around individual characters makes league of legends a fun experience. Well, most of the time.

Too often recently people just pick champions that win. These players go on youtube and watch these tier list videos describing the best champions for each roles and they just play those champions. Last patch it was irelia top. This one is ashe. I sometimes feel like not everyone enjoys playing these champions, but winning games.

Because of this, even casual league matches are overly competitive and filled with people that think every situation can be turned around because "the pros did it."

I guess ill just cut to the point and say that i just got out of another match that i lost today. Losing wasnt the problem. The problem was that the match went on 40 minutes. I put up the surrender vote because we hadnt taken a single tower and they already had an inhib along with i think a 20 kill advantage. It was completely one sided. I put up the surrender vote at 20.

Me (top), our mid, and our jg agreed to the vote. More than half the team. Did the match end? Of course not. League has it set so you need 4 people to accept a surrender. The problem is that out of all the matches ive attempted surrender, most of them end in a lose. But not before i waited about twice as long for them to take our nexus.

So us 3 vote to surrender. Clearly a one sided match. We would have lost soon had the enemy team just pushed (but why would they when they can get more kills and whatever) and most of the team was done. But every single time, the bot lane votes no. Why? Because people, generally speaking, duo queue for bot lane so they dont get stuck with randoms. So one friend decides they're having fun. So they tell the other not to surrender. Now the other three people are stuck in a game they dont want to be in because 1 or 2 people want to.

Thats not it though. Because those two didnt surrender and me teamates new that, they just attacked them in chat. This caused them to be muted. So now almost any hope of winning that game is gone because the teams divided and more than half the team doesnt want to play.

People have a way of following their idols. I hear it all the time in league. "Oh faker did this so i can" or "thats not what mad life builds on yas". But most frustratingly of all, people recall events of pros winning losing games. They think "oh if clg can do it we can". Im just going to be blunt and say that out of all the time we failed a surrender vote, i have won enough of them to count on my hands. Most of the time this whole idea of coming back (depending on champions of course) is just a pipe dream.

I know the post was long and slightly unorganized. So

TL;DR I think the surrender vote should be 3 to 2. It doesnt feel fair or fun to be stuck in a game that more than half the team doesnt want to be in just because bot lane does. Please consider this. I really have so much more to say about this but ill just cut it off here.

I say no, because too many people start surrender vote for no real motivation.

In my opinion it should not even exist this option, expecially now that /remake exist.

I say yes only as to because it is ruled by majority vote and being 3 of the 5 is majority. Other than that, I'm incredibly indifferent about it. Been playing this game for countless years and it's always been that way.

In my years the only issue I can think of that I've encountered with the surrender voting is when you get a really stubborn or toxic or whatever duo that won't vote yes just out of spite due to whatever circumstances. This case is almost incredibly rare so it only occurs once in a blue moon. (Diana Did somebody call me?)

I won't even try to explain how many times I've been that one guy with 3 "Yes" and 1 "No".. the deciding vote being me... A lot would disagree, but I think the surrender vote should be the entire team has to vote "Yes". Even if it looks grim I want to see the game get played through. You'd be surprised how many games turns from "losing" into "winning" when everyone can stop thinking about their score and just look forward to the next battle and work as a team.

I'm the type of person that doesn't surrender unless there's no chance of winning. Such as, an enemy going into a 1v4 and winning.

However, I have made comebacks. It's actually easier than it seems. You're the top lamer right? Why don't you split push? Last time I was losing I was Xin. The enemy team was 20ish kills ahead and had 2 inhibitors. I managed to take 2 towers while they were busy with my team. This gets us enough gold to work together better. We go on to get me a triple kill. And that's when I turned the tide.

But, if you're losing miserably and want to surrender and someone doesn't. Just report them after for being unsportsmanlike. I report people that surrender when we have a chance

Im watching a friends game right now where the bot lane didnt want to surrender and they have where the enemy team is going to win in maybe 10 minutes but they're just going around raking up kills. My friend can't do anything about it because everyones so fed (man i dislike olaf) and bot lane refuses to group even though they were the ones that dont want to surrender.

Okay, this is the last time I'll post more 'evidence'. I was in a game with a friend and the other 3 being a group. bot laner picks yas even though my friends playing yas mid and had first pick. bot laner bans yas. as if that wasn't a bad way to start a game, i was up against teemo top (trying to learn fiora RIP) Our jg was rengar and he was the most reasonable out of the three. He didnt want to play even though his friends who were bot (sion and gangplank of all things) did. So we sat there for 10 minutes longer against a literally 18 and 0 lucian. It gets worse everyday i swear.

Also thanks for reading my post and providing feedback.

I say no because there have been so many times in my last 4 years of playing that Our team has come back from seemingly impossible to win games. Except for very high elos, I would say diamond 3 and up, being down early or looking like you will lose doesn't mean that you will because the other team is prone to make mistakes that will turn the fight in your favor, if you let them.

In a real life sports game, I didn't see Brazil surrendering even though they went 1 to 7. Surrendering is a really bad sportsmanship IMO .Are some games an inevitable loss? Yes. But there are also times when I wanted to surrender but failed to go through and my team ended up winning by grouping and taking picks.

I've won countless games where our team had a 3 - 2 surrender vote at some point. If it was that easy to give up comebacks wouldn't happen.
