Don't get why people think Ahri is "very anime"

Yeah, she has the whole~~ foxgirl ~~ foxlady thing on point - but that's just it. I've watched a ton of anime, and their female characters are almost always extremely shy and get incredibly embarrassed at the mention of anything romantic, or assertive and loud (but still get incredibly embarrassed when it comes to romance). Really the only anime that comes to mind where a female character owns her sexuality and weaponizes it like Ahri does is Lust from FMA:B.

Anime can have 13-17 year old foxgirls. Ahri is a 27+ grown foxlady, so the only connection she has to anime influences is a superficial one.

That's probably because you only watch shoujo, harem and the average/below-average rom-com anime.

I hate to break it to you, but a lot of anime has it just the opposite.

She's a nine tailed fox who's main attack is a spinning blue ball and has the power to mental manipulate. Sound familiar to any anime?

Nine-tailed foxes are associated with Japan, thus anime. (I know they aren't exclusive to japanese folklore tho.) Add the sexy lady factor and you have it
