I currently am using a work laptop to play League of Legends. It's a MacBook Mid 2012, 8GB RAM, Intel 4000 iGPU, Intel Dual-Core i7 2.9GHz, 13.3 inch. I can run the game perfectly fine on my Windows partition (because the Mac LoL client is horrid and laggy.) I am currently looking to upgrade my personal computer, and since my job has me integrated with OSX, I am considering buying a MacBook over a Razer. As much as I would love to get a Razer, being only an LoL player, I do not feel like the Razer is worth it for purely gaming. The MacBook Pro offers more job/gaming reliability I personally think. My question to the community is this, is getting a MacBook Pro 15", Quad-Core i7 2.5 GHz, Intel Iris Pro iGPU, 16GB RAM worth getting? Again, the main reason I am wanting Mac is for the OSX integration at work and in my field of work.

If that's your field of work, I'm inclined to say yes, though looking at those specs, I have the same over all (My GPU is better, Nvidia Geforce GTX 860m) For about 1200$, and 8gb RAM version of this laptop for 969$. If you're really set on the OSX, then I suppose it's worth it, though if you're any bit flexible to Windows OS then you would be able to get better performance with less money.

I prefer Windows, but the company I work for is purely OSX, and deploy Mac's to us. I am currently on my Windows partition, because when I leave work I boot up BootCamp and get into my Windows partition. I have been looking at different models of the MacBook, but I haven't found anything that great. I haven't found a MacBook with over a 750m GeForce GPU alongside the Iris. I know the graphics card is the bottleneck of the system, but since I am not purely using it for gaming, I am curious if spending the money to upgrade from the pure Iris Pro to the GeForce + Iris Pro is worth it. The laptop I currently use can run League on Medium graphics at 55-60+ FPS. I am a Network Engineer, and working with both OS is very common for me. So this is why I have been leaning towards the MacBook. Although it is also plausible for me to get the Razer Blade 14 QHD+ and run VMWare + OSX. I am still looking through my options.

I don't want to be "That guy" but I'm honestly not a fan of the prices of razer's systems, though they are good, I think better company's to look at are MSI, Lenovo, and Asus.

As for the Iris Pro vs the 750m, the 750m will have substantial performance boost to this iris, but isn't a GPU to brag about either.

If you plan on continuing to be very casual with gaming, such as League, this shouldn't be too affecting to your buying choice.

I honestly really like Mac OSX's clean style, but windows has become a good powerhouse for graphics fidelity, which turns this into an opinion you should definitely sit and think about before you purchase either system, be it Razer Mac or any other.

I'm definitely leaning more towards the Mac, for a multitude of reasons. The Razer was my initial thought for a decent spec'd work/gaming computer, but then I realize all the draw backs of having 1 pure OS could do to my career. With OSX being so heavily integrated into companies nowadays, I think it would be stupid not to have both Windows and OSX. I've looked at some MSI stuff, but honestly it's just not "clean" enough for me. I prefer the Razer/Mac style because it's slick as well as powerful. Thanks for all the responses though man, I appreciate the feedback.
