So, what the fuck is going on with trolling?

Right now, it seems like nothing.

I've been getting constant trolls in Diamond+ games since S4 began. I have seen no improvement since the season started.

I'm typing this while in a ranked game where our third pick is intentionally feeding. The entire team has given up and is waiting for the enemy team to end the game. As the game started, this player said 'going to troll, i dont feel like playing.' He ran mid lane and auto'd the enemy tower until he died. He then just kept going back to lane and autoing minions, until he died four times, then he sold his items (2 Ruby Crystals) and bought Boots of Mobility, so he could feed faster.

I can count the number of days in S4 where I went without seeing a troll on one hand. This is Diamond. This is supposed to be the top 1/2% of players, yet any number of them will start trolling at the drop of a hat, and nothing seems to be done about it. I'm seeing it even more often in the pre-season. Not only this, but I've been playing ranked since solo queue was introduced; there has been a consistent increase in the frequency of trolling as each season passes.

The prevalence of this behavior has reached a point that it's unbelievable that nothing has been done to curb it. There should be harsh penalties for trolling even one ranked game, especially at such high rating. This should take precedence over issues like verbal abuse; you can mute a player who is trashing you, but there's nothing we can do to deal with a player who's intentionally making us lose LP.

Even at high Diamond I last season, there were a handful of players that everyone knew were prone to intentionally lose games if they got angry. We had to bend over backwards to appease them, because they were never punished.

What the fuck is going on here? Why has there been zero improvement in this area? This is no longer just unacceptable, this is sad.
