Seriously nothing regarding when it is going to be released almost a week after it was announced, as someone who preloaded RP into their account i'm tempted to not even buy it anymore.
Seriously if you are gonna do a cool skin release it with the patch or a day or two after, making us wait this long isn't cool
Albuquerque4 votesThe skin being delayed is unintentional. I think it's mostly due to timing and Riot finishing up some things with the skin.
About the timing: most things that are said to "release later in the patch" usually release about 2-3 days afterwards. So if the patch comes out on Tuesday, then those things are likely to come out on Thursday/Friday. And guess what happened this Thur/Fri? Thanksgiving and Black Friday. Riot probably knows this is a really busy time for people, with everyone traveling/spending time with family/etc, so it's not a good time to release it, everyone's too distracted.
Also, another contributing factor: Think back to all the other Ultimate skins. Every one of them had a big promotional video or comic that came with its release to hype it up and showcase it in all its true glory. That's exactly what Riot is doing with Elementalist Lux. High quality CG videos and artworks take time, and what they were working on probably wasn't finished yet. And with Thanksgiving, obviously Rioters have families too so they took time off for family.
I'm willing to bet 100% that Riot will finish up the promo and release the skin on Monday. It's after all the holiday craziness has died down, everyone's back to work and no ones too busy or distracted so the skin will get the attention it deserves upon its release.
Winters S0k4r01 votesYou should keep in mind that during "black Friday" people have money burning in their pockets, and from what I understand black friday is celebrated in much of the world, on the other hand, "thanksgiving" is celebrated only in NA ... and Riot's headquarters are in Dublin isn't it ?, let's not forget that, so whether it's "thanks giving" or "black friday", if we talk about the company to get more benefits, it should be released on Friday, if we talk about vacation topic on Thursday, and the promotional videos were already made long time ago... almost a month.
My intention is not to disable your arguments, but more than anything to show that I do not agree with the policy of riot, you can not have the whole world waiting for this skin (that will be several thousand people) uninformed and disgusted... Riot´s headquarter is in California!!! The office in Dublin is responsible for euw and probably a bit more than that but the hq of Riot is in Los Angeles, California, USA.

Obviously a skin is not going to make me do that with League, but I'm less tempted to buy it now. I main mid, but only have Lux at mastery 4, she isn't super fun to play for me so I was planning to use this skin to get some more practice on her but alas, I'll prob wait a bit longer.

I am waiting for her too and I am excited to try her out, but good things take time.
Ulriah1 votesI don't really remember the Jhin release, but I remember the Championship Zed release, and in case you forgot, it got postponed for a whole freaking patch. Yeah I bought it in the end, but I don't ever feel like using it.

The Riot offices were either closed or low staffed, as many travel to be with family.
Because of this, it is unwise to release a big ticket item at that time. If a major issue occured, Riot's full staff attention wouldn't be able to be put into fixing it, causing it to just end up disabled, and making people even saltier.

I equate this feeling to impulse buying. You see something shiny and new and want it immediately. This 'hype loss' people experience is them being able to take a step back and really look at something to decide what they like and dislike about it.
