I love being able to trade with Camille in lane

Doseqis··104 votes·7,936 views

I truly enjoy having any effort i put into trying to interact with my opponent be wasted because they just get a 20% max hp shield making any attempt to trade with her pointless and a bad idea.

Just really wanted to express my gratitude for making a less interactive Poppy shield

i love sheen champions tbh

It's so fun when they get a huge damage spike off of a component item and I suddenly can't trade with them for the next 10 minutes

When you read about people raging about Sheen champions into sheen itself, and then loving Shen, making you realize that Shen is the ultimate counter to Sheen champions. [zombie-brand-mindblown]

I like him in smaller doses. Hearing his voice as the main character...it's like scratching a chalkboard.

You know something the champions everyone hates has in common? A free shield that prevents getting good trades in your favor. Yasuo, Riven, and now the newest member, Camille. I wouldn't mind if they had more damage if they didn't get the shields. Shields and mobility should never mix.

Volcanuz5 votes

Panth, Malphite too. Both are pretty much free.

ACENOX11 votes

malphite has to not take damage for 10 second to not get a shield taking damage by minions will disable the passive too

NichtHurz5 votes

...and Panth has to stack it up first or use his W to block one auto. It can be meaningful, but also easily disabled as long as that first AA you can land doesn't have some strong special effect.

woodvsmurph7 votes

you forgot one: Ekko . And it's no the shield or the mobility or any one thing as you say. It is when a champ: scales well, has a strong enough mix of damage AND defenses (like shields) AND mobility. If they have only 2 of the three (damage, defense, mobility) they can be punished. When they have too strong a mix of all 3 is where the problems start. Ex: sion and nasus have damage and defense (provided they land their spells) but lack mobility. Ezreal has mobility and damage but lacks defense/tank. Yasuo has all 3 in spades from the start and scales well. Riven has all 3, but she actually requires items to really start rolling. Camille I have only run into 2 times, so i'm not sure yet.

Volcanuz15 votes

Jayce destroys her. Teemo, Cho, Malph, Jax, Trynd..

There are lots of champions that can trade very easy with her.

The thing is people don't know how to trade her. Like EVERY new champion you just haven't worked out how to play your OTP against her.

MissingKayo6 votes

Or… trade around its massive cooldown in early? And playing Shen means you stop her Q2 incredibly easily. You can dash away from her stun to dodge or dodge towards her and just taunt her. And your ultimate effectively ruins her chances of her ult-killing targets.

But then again, logic doesn't belong in a repfarming thread.

Doseqis10 votes

I don't play shen much since nerfs so don't just judge off of a name.

My point is you can't effectively trade with her during lane or really anytime her passive is up, poppy has interaction where you can step on the shield. Camille has none of that she just has to auto attack you.

She is behind? Builds tank and scales up while still being able to kill people. Ahead? Build triforce and Titanic into tank and kill everyone

MissingKayo7 votes

But…

If Camille builds damage, she is squishier. If she builds tank, she is less painful. And she's only good at 1v1s.

Poppy's passive W is incredibly strong and arguably even more unfair as well as being more "hidden" power.

And you can trade any time except that once in 20 seconds in laning...

??? Camille builds tri force and possibly a hydra into tank afterwards and she still manages to do a shit ton of damage due to her true damage Q and % max hp damage. She's almost never irrelevant

MissingKayo2 votes

Oh hey, it's almost like building two damage items makes them do damage.

Who would've thought? Cough Hec, cough Vi, cough Irelia, cough just about every bruiser or juggernaut or fighter ever.

Chromatic Eagle2 votes

Coincidentally, those 3 champions have frustrated people for a while.

MissingKayo3 votes

It's not even just those three. It's every single champion that can build Triforce and/or is a melee duelist.

Basically the argument people use to support yas.

It doesn't work, the camille/yasuo player isn't stupid

Sraeg20138 votes

You are right.

Playing around a champion's cooldowns isn't a feasible counterplay.

PB4UAME7 votes

Especially when in early lane, her passive has a 20 second cooldown. If you can't do shit to her in a 20 second period, you are the problem, not the champion.

Sraeg20132 votes

Not only that, but the way it's proc'd she can't make any use of it in many cases without using the Attack on Titan move.

Theres a couple of champions that can beat her ass. Just imagine a champion that would say "im not stuck here with you, you are stuck here with me" example jax does hybrid dmg, so does ww. Ww will tank her ass and beat her silly, so would tham kench. I feel gp stands a great chance vs her too. Nocturne would beat the shit out of her but i dont want people playing noct top. The problem is that people just want the champion they like to play go uncontested and be able to fight everyone and bully others at no risk cost. No darious will probably not beat her early stop playing darius. Fiora can beat her too because her attacks are very predictable. Puppy could trade well with her, riven is full of shit, gnar beats her too. Spand your champion pool if not learn to play safe vs a counter. Sorry for typeO's im on my phone.

woodvsmurph2 votes

The problem with counter-picks is when you have to lock in blind. Also, while I am totally with you that there should be counters for different champs, there is a problem when a champ that is supposed to dominate early, but fall off fails to be able to bully a champ who outscales them mid/late. There is supposed to be tradeoffs -- if you are strong early, you are weaker late or mid game. Or maybe you are net neutral all game -- never the bully, but never vastly outscaled. I'm not arguing whether Camille is or is not too op right now -- i don't have enough games played vs her to know yet. Merely stating that some champs are/have been (in past 2 seasons) too strong at all stages of the game to not be considered overly op. Every kit should have tradeoffs. Damage, durability, mobility -- you can't be making champs with kits that have top tier capabilities in all 3 areas. Ex: morde has tons of damage and can be fairly durable depending on his opponents and how he builds, but he pays a price for it by lacking mobility. Zac has mobility and durability, but pays by lacking strong damage. Jax builds up to having a solid mix of all 3 -- provided he can attack his opponents (isn't cc chained and bursted) -- but he has to ramp up to that state -- leaving an early and mid game that CAN be punished; plus can be matched by at least a few champs late game. Some champs get to feel like darius or renekton early, stay strong in mid game, and yet have the late game of a 6 item jax or twitch. They have no punishable weak spot -- unless (or maybe not even if) they are camped early. And therein lies the issue. Every champ needs to be punishable. Every champs + strategy needs to have counter-play. If not for this, then the game becomes entirely about who picks the right champ in draft phase and you don't even have to play the game. Not saying this is where game is at right now, just stating general truth.

she can be punished bullied and out traded by champions that are good in duels. She is amazing at her job which is to chase and single out a target however if she's in a spot where she needs to fight off a champion that beats her she'll lose, her skills are too predictable. I don't see her beating jax because jax is strong vs melee attackers. And while you have a point you have to play more and experiment more camile is strong but she's not OP if they nerf her rn without seeing what if anything needs to be changed she'll end up like aatrox. She can catch up and trap her target but if nearly all her targets will kill her what's the point?

the only thing i can say as someone that has played her and again'st her is that she is a little too safe for ganks over extending with her E, I think her E should be blocked by a champion intercepting the first dash. I didn't actually try to hit a champ with her E though to know what happens with it.

Her issue to me feels that her Attack speed is really slow especially to get those Q's off you either need to start it up premature or someone have your opponent commit to the fight to get the full dmg off.

I've also played morde. While he is immobile he packs a ridiculous punch. While i would trade some of his power for mobility there's like no way to balance him atm.

anyways TL;DR camile is fine atm, there's plenty of champions that can beat her in lane and out of it. Nerfing her right now would put her in the gutting state. Only issue having used her is that her Laning phase is a little too safe so maybe having a way to block her E to peel her or trap her would be best but bringing down her numbers would be too much.

Not only is it a max HP shield, but one that resists your specific damage output. Most tanks would love that kind of innate mitigation, let alone bruisers.

Ralanr5 votes

Not gonna lie, I kinda agree here. But it's more useful in 1v1's than a teamfight.

She is pretty strong 1v1. I've seen her out-trade Darius, Jax, Fiora, late game Yasuo, even Illaoi while standing in her ult. Yet to see her fight a Yorick, but I rarely see him in general. Kind of glad no one plays him.

Camille gets obliterated by E-Lah-wee , especially in ult.

I've merely witnessed it. Personally, I've never played Illaoi. I typically play the squishier champs that they both obliterate. Camille's ganks and her untargetability, when she ults, are the only things that really bother me.

Fiora is your solution, she can even parry the ult really easily as long as you don't have the reflexes of a sloth. She does a big jumping animation, just watch out for that.

Blocking her ult is a waste of parry.

It's far better to block the incredibly broadcasted E to stun Camille back and kill her.

If Fiora's ultimate is up, then Camille ulting Fiora is suicide.
