Gold is a scary place right now...

and here i thought bronze was bad but that DOES sound way scarier... good luck!

edit: Bronze is a Silver/Gold playing field at the moment. I advise any true bronze player to stay away from ranked until the coast is clear!

I actually think if you're a Bronze player or low silver player as I made it to Silver 5 before the end of last season (not pre), now is the best time to play if you want to get out. There are chances you can get carried, just make sure you listen to your team and focus on objectives when you can. No one cares about KDA, no one cares about anything except winning or losing. If you avoid feeding, and make plays when everyone is pinging to do so, you'll be golden.

If you have any skill or basic understanding of the game, it's better to play now then when you get teammates who are toxic and don't know what they're doing.

I was in silver 1 last season and got bronze 2 this season.. Their placements were changed.. All my plat friends also got gold

These plats fell to gold for a reason. They might wreck at times, but they would be higher already if it wasn't for some key mistakes they tend to make.

I myself got into gold 2 from plat 5. Yeh, gold is going to be full of plats.

I mean, if you don't count for the plat smurfs taking advantaged of Bronze/Silver brackets to get their smurfs to gold+ then yeah. Don't go to Bronze either. :p
