Except that almost all crazy psycho women call themselves feminists... and tend to be taken far to seriously. Yeah the (hopefully) vast majorities of feminists aren't crazy psychos but enough of them are to seriously taint the label. Its pretty much what the WBBC and a lot of televangelists do for Christianity. There is also the issue that the closer feminism comes to attaining its goals the less it is really necessary in Western countries and the more the true missandrists begin to shine further tainting the movement. So while I could technically consider myself a Feminist, MRA, and LGBT right's activist, I just go with the term egalitarian or humanitarian.

Doesn't that come down to the true Scotsman fallacy though? I mean christians can say WBBC aren't real christians, MRA's can say misogynists aren't real MRA's, feminists can say misandrists aren't real feminists, but I don't see any real qualifiers where you can say definitively that THOSE don't belong to x movement. There are several early feminists who are called feminists by every history book I have seen, but who were the most hateful bigoted people imaginable, and the same could be said of any group. I know I'm getting off on a bit of a tangent here, but the whole "but they aren't REAL ...." has always bugged me.

Also when someone throws around the term "Feminist" as an insult, practically everyone understand exactly what they are referring to. It is a stupid insult because it covers such a huge range of people, but it is generally understood. IMO "Faggot" has a much older and group inclusive insult. All gay males are "fags", all women are not feminists, by last reports less then 20% would identify as such.

I would add to this that it's fully possible for a person to be a bigoted feminist. Hating men and seeking equality are not necessarily mutually exclusive ideas.

Honestly you can argue that the idea that women and men are equal is crazy. Men and women are emotionally and physically different. so trying to compare two different but not equal parts seems silly. However that does not justify discriminating against either sex. It is just simply pointing out (a few among many) that women as a whole tend to be in less physical work place environments and also tend to have radically different thought processes. Not saying that they can't do those things but usually it is at a significantly reduced rate then a male counterpart. Same with men they are usually not as good as women at certain things. Equal rights is different. Men and women should have the ability to be just as successful as everyone else and is something we should strive for but universal equality is kind of silly because it is virtually impossible to achieve because of the biological differences between men and women.

I can't even express how much I agree with this. When I, and I would imagine most people who actually think about things, say "equality" in an equal opportunity sense. I constantly argue with my GF that certain things, like heavy lifting jobs, should actually pay men more. They can do more, so they should be compensated accordingly. This is also a generalization. If I get some huge ass butch woman that can lift a car, I would pay that girl out the ass.

With that said, I'm not gay and I don't know what kind of emotional toll words like this have on the homosexual community so I try to avoid it as much as possible.

Now regarding your joke, a business major who has no intentions of pursing an MBA or other higher degree should be made fun of, otherwise it has the potential to open the door to a lot of lucrative job opportunities. And since I'm sure you're wondering, I'm a psychology major myself so there is no bias in regards to my views on the degree.

I also realize that I analyzed your post way more than I should have, thus taking all the fun out of the joke, but in all honesty it wasn't really that funny to begin with. Sorry.
