I wish Riot would just stop making promises, period.

Between Hippalus saying Lifetime RP rewards aren't happening and Narrative unwilling to live up to their promises of more communication to their most hardcore fans, Riot's become a company you just can't trust to do anything they say they will.

While the perk of getting something nice for spending my money to help keep the lights on and the game free would have been awesome, Narrative's broken promise was worse, imo. They gave their fans false hope after a less than token effort to follow through. Outside of causing physical pain, that's just about the cruelest thing they could have done.

This was something that Riot was supposed to be working on (Magma Chamber where?) but it's more of the same. Make a big promise, delay it to make it even more awesome, delay it even more while it's discussed, then take it away because... reasons.

So please, employees of Riot. Just stop making promises. Most of you can't be trusted to be taken at your word, anymore.

They never said they were going to give RP rewards, they said it was "an eventuality they were working on", and really if you think that is a promise i have bad news for you.

Hippalus saying Lifetime RP rewards aren't happening

As far as I'm aware this was never a concrete plan. That being said, it was heavily encouraged by the community so it's odd that they have apparently forgotten about it.

Narrative unwilling to live up to their promises of more communication

Other than the fact they spent the last week or so communicating about lore, of course.

Riot's become a company you just can't trust to do anything they say they will.

This is a much different problem than Rioters "promising" things. Trust comes down to rapport and delivery, not initial communication.

Magma Chamber where?

This was one of Riot's two most significant PR mistakes in the company's history, the other being Dominion.

Things are actually starting to improve, especially recently. It seems like a weird time to decide to tear Riot apart, right when communication and overall trust is increasing.
