This was the most fun Nemesis Draft game ever.

They gave us Taric ?

We give them Zed .

"But Lao Fu! Don't you realize that Zed is OP and assassins melt tanks??"

"NAY, MY FRIENDS. Not when you have builds like THESE! WE SHALL FOCUS THEM DOWN WITH OUR FUNFIRE CAPES! And DON'T FORGET TO BRING 5 EXHAUSTS! That's a whole lot of tiredness."

I'd rather be with the tanky combo, given that it isn't so easily countered with thornmail, Randuins and CC like Zed's is.

Regardless of who won, Gragas is fun as hell to play.

Gragas was a blast. :D

The most hilarious part was the number of solo kills we got.

urgot and taric or a team with zed talon. yeah i'll take the armor/mr shred plus slow plus damage debuff tanky adc and armor buffing and shredding ad tank combo. you also had significant mixed damage. can you see how many people on the enemy team built any magic resist in the first place? zed and lee, that is it. meanwhile pretty much all attack damage enemy team.

we already know statistically that an all attack damage composition is on the bottom of the winrate for the mode, because 5 man thornmail rush is so strong compared to their rate of itemization.

that said it would be simple to surmise from the scoreboard that urgots buffs+debuffs plus your tanky magic damage zac +gragas combo were the key here amplified by the enemies lack of mr. taric clearly wan't a heavy teamfight participant for some reason, unless he was solo zoning instead of participating in any kill trade action directly. perhaps he spent the whole game splitpushing. on consideration this seems even more likely given teleport AND cs score vs k/d/a.

hard to say what happened with lux, her cs is terrible that match but her kill participation is close to twice tarics.

but honestly, no hate for talon, but as a champ he was the weakest link. poor guy needs a tiny bit of love. endgame score just highlights that(and him requiring more skill than zed to play passably well).

also nice work getting your team to clump zz'rots. sure it takes 3 or more for base turrets to get any damage without a wave, but when they are clustered they can do work.

just be glad they didn't convince someone to go off spec and build ohmwrecker, and all build banner of command. 5 baron style buffed minions immune to magic damage and 5 guys who can effectively destroy a turret during an ohmwrecker active could have done work for them if they handled it well.

It was just for fun. xD

But yeah, full tank compositions tend to kill AD assassin comps pretty hard. For some reason though, they gave us all pretty tanky people (except Lux, who we convinced to tank, too).

I guarentee if you didn't have FIVE exhausts you'd have lost.

Armor and Thornmail is easy to counter with Last whisper considering how dumb of an item it is, and it looks like generally most of your team only really had 1 or two health items, so if you didn't have Exhaust you'd all have been evaporated anyway.

I disagree.

I think the whole "tank deletion" argument as a whole is a bit overblown. While the armour part of thornmail may be counterable by a Last Whisper, the passive is not. And a Master Yi dealing 900 damage raw crits wothout taking into account armour (which, even with Last Whisper never exceeded about 400) with nearly 300 returned on each auto attack will kill himself very quickly.

I don't care if you have 50% armour pen. When I have 475 armour, that's still an effective 230+ armour and 4K health that an assassin will absolutely not shred.

I've done posts on this before.

Anyone with BOTRK and a small portion of lifesteal can almost outheal the item by about 30 damage short.

Notice Yi has a Bloodthirster. That's 20% life steal. He'd need at least 30% to negate the damage.

But wait - that's only if his attacks are dealing **100% true damage, ** since Thornmail's passive applies before reduction. So he heals 20% of the damage he deals via auto attacks, which are already severely weakened by sheer armour.

Your post is incorrect.

Let's talk the example I was using above, where Yi's crits would do 900 damage raw, gated to 400 due to my armour, returning 300 per hit from Thornmail. With 20% life steal, he would heal 75 HP for every auto. That's still -225 damage per auto due to thornmail.

With 30% life steal, he heals about 130 per hit. That's STILL -170 HP per auto.

To match the damage thornmail output, he would need roughly 75% life steal.

Your post is correct if and only if the only armour item purchased was a thornmail.

Ill just leave this here.

Leave it there. It proves rushing TM as a first item is bad. Not that the item itself is bad.

It doesn't change my point. It proves my point.

If you are tanking, you will easily have 300+ armour. Not 100. So that "500 to the face" becomes substantially less.

If you are tanking and have only 1000 HP, you're doing it wrong. Tanks EASILY have 4k+ health.

So yes, I'll let him do 250 damage per auto and take 100 net damage every time he hits me. Plus, I'm not a standing wall, I'll be attacking him back. He WILL die, and a SUBSTANTIAL amount is thormail.

As a fed Master Yi, taking 1400+ damage from TM's passive on a Mundo in death recap hurts like hell. Even with 20% life steal from a Bloodthirster.
