Drain's mechanics are simple - break the tether and you're good. Stay around, and risk losing a duel to a stick figure. Fiddlesticks can still lock you down with Terrify to ensure his success, but lowering Tether's range makes sure enemies can actually escape when he fails to scare them good and proper

Yea, because fear really "locks them down" when it makes them run away from you. GG rito.

Fear also makes them move much slower.

I read your thread title as you insulting yourself.

Oops.

I'm confused as to what you're saying here. Do you think it's silly for someone to say that nerfing the tether range on Drain makes it easier to escape, or...?

No, saying that fear "locks down" the enemy lol.

I mean...technically it does. It's hard CC and forces an enemy to move in a predetermined path with a slow effect.

A predetermined path that is naturally the way they would want to go 99% of the time lol.

Fear is now a silence with a slow on it. And the slow isn't even that good of one at all.

A predetermined path that rewards effective positioning on the part of Fiddlesticks. Fear is weaker than stun if positioned poorly, but stronger than stun if positioned such that the enemy is feared into the rest of your team.

Fear is now a silence with a slow on it.

It's a silence with a 50% or so slow and a root that moves away from the caster for the duration. For all intents and purposes, it's a stun that moves a bit.

Aw i was expecting a funny.

Nope lol. Nothing funny about how stupid this person is.

Fear used to function differently.

Meaning?

Meaning?

Feared units would run around randomly. I'm not sure exactly how the code worked, but I could assume it was just in a random direction or that in a more advanced way, the direction would update every 0.xx seconds.

I can't agree with you more. They already nerfed his fear hardcore, nerfed his AMAZING passive, and now a champion who was released in 2009 is the focus of these updates?

nerfed his fear hardcore

His fear is one of the most anti-fun mechanics in the game, I wish they had just overhauled it rather than nerfing the duration.

nerfed his AMAZING passive

Not sure if you're being sarcastic or not, but either way his passive was incredible. 20 free flat AoE magic penetration is a huge amount of value for such a non-interactive mechanic.

a champion who was released in 2009 is the focus of these updates

Release date doesn't particularly matter, some of the most overpowered champions in existence were released very early in the game's life cycle (Kassadin, anyone?).
