@Lore team, Demacian Houses?

For those of you who don't know, Demacia is led by a number of Royal houses. These are;

  • House Lightshield (King Jarvan III, Jarvan IV, Xin Zhao steward of the house)
  • House Spiritmight (Queen Catherine)
  • House Crownguard (Garen, Lux)
  • House Buvelle (adopted Sona)
  • House Vayne (Vayne obviously)
  • House Laurent (Fiora)

When are we going to learn more about these houses? In terms of lore, it seems like there's a lot you can do here.

For example, I'd like to learn what separates each of the houses. So far all we know is Lighsthield is the current leading house, the Laurent are renown duelists (with a possible French influence) and Crownguard is a well-respected house (but then again, they might all be.) Instead of having a bunch of different homogeneous houses, you could have each set apart in a Game of Thrones style. A motto, a symbol, banners and apparel, etc.

I'd also like to learn about the roles of each of the houses. There's no point in having 6 houses if they all do the same thing. Lighsthield are the monarchy, sure, but what about everyone else. Maybe the Lighsthield are also responsible for law and order, while the Crownguards are known for commanding parts of the military (although the monarch is still the commander-in-chief.)

I'd just really appreciate if Riot took time to nurture this story, as I think it has pretty great potential to expand in a way that the average League player would be interested in. This could all be explained in a similar manner as the Freljord tribes, you could even set up a way for people to pick their favorite house. Thank you for your consideration, and hopefully we'll be picking our houses soon!

P.S. Is Lucian from a house, or is he just common born? Every human Demacian except for Quinn is from a house, so it seems weird this was never mentioned. It'd be awesome if you mentioned what house Senna was from as well.

P.P.S. Could we expect a champion from House Spiritmight soon? That would give us one champion from every house.

While possible, it's not likely someone from Creative will respond to this here. They're fairly approachable on Twitter though, so I'd try there if you want them to look this over. :)

You bring up an intriguing point: we know that Lucian was originally from Demacia before he joined the order, but was he from a noble house? Moreover, where was Senna from?

As for the houses themselves, here's my idea on it:

Lightshield: the crown royalty of Demacia for a number of generations. Commander-in-chief.

Crownguard: defenders of the Lightshield family line. Usually commanders in the military, personal guards, etc.

Spiritmight: Demacia's practitioners and teachers of magic. Perhaps Lux was initially trained by a Spiritmight?

Buvelle: due to Sona's adoption, I can see this house being dedicated to the arts. The Buvelle family creates, maintains, and nurtures all kinds of artistic talent, such as painting, music, theater, etc.

Vayne: maybe House Vayne could represent the everyday police force of Demacia? That would be an interesting twist for Vayne's character, especially if her father were the police chief (cough Barbara Gordan Batgirl cough).

Laurent: unlike Crownguard, which focuses on the military, House Laurent upholds the honor of the duel. In the past, they have overseen duels between other noble houses. With the betrayal of the senior Laurent, only his daughter Fiora is left to uphold honor.

There is no more lore team and as for house Vayne, Shauna's parent's were killed by a witch who was in misuse of her powers.

I LIKE to believe that it was Leblanc who killed her parent's meaning her parents had some extreme political importance in Demacia therefore be prime targets for the black rose.

But as fans we can only guess as to the canon lore because there is no one creating or confirming it at riot (As far as I know)
