This will encourage players to be better (detailed method)

I'm going to talk about solo rankeds, because it's a most toxic type of game.

Right now we have weird honor system - after game you get notification that someone (you dont know who was that) honored you for something (you dont know what you did well). This system was satisfying grinding feelings of some players, but nothing more (and right now honor system doesn't do even that - now it's almost impossible to get ribbon in solo ranked).

My suggestion is:

  1. player must be able to get honor in chat and must be able to see who gave it to him;
  2. there must be option to write message while giving honor, so people will be able to write some thankful words;
  3. other players should be able see in chat this honors and messages.

Why it's good idea:

  1. players will start to think like that: "Wow, toplaner honored him, because he let him to go toplane, and went support. I think he was great support, I have to tell him about that, I'm gonna honor him too.";
  2. easy to implement - it can be done in chat without creating any additional windows;
  3. honor will be less impersonal, and players will feel themselves connected with other players, feel themselves more important and respected by other people;
  4. there is psychological connection between honor and good mood - you see like people honor each other, and you feel yourself better. "honorable opponent" honor and respectful words - what else need you after hard lose?

Added:

  1. honor and message can be sent just once, so it can't be spammed or abused by toxic players.

Please vote if you like this idea. We're making LoL better.

Here is a nice answer with a great idea too (I'm not really agree with "ping", because it must be functional, but there can be added something for honoring or celebration in game):

I really like the idea but I think people will leave before you can end writting your honorable message and show it to others. Also, I would like to see honors in game not only after my sweaty soloQ plays. My idea is to make an extra button with positive pings like "good job" with a model of a raised thumb for cheering up your mates in game. Did my mate kill someone? "good job", did we just take the dragon? "good job", did our janna just make a pentakill in a teamfight? ... "good job!". But it should be pings with a shared for your team cooldown otherwise players will just throw 4-5 "good jobs" after every kill and it will annoy players instead.

What do you this about this guys?

I like the Idea of seeing who honored me to build comradery. I don't know why it was anonymous to begin with. I would like to see +3 teamwork from x,y,z champs. I also thin ribbons should only consider like your last 50 games or so. I don't know how the system works now but I got a ribbon one time and lost it with no explanation or understanding of why. I still get honors all the time. HO is the only one I ever got.

Trolls are going to use the message function to spread more hateful words post-game to people. You'll get an honor with a message attached that says "HAHAHA YOU SUCK BALLS" or something. It's a nice idea, but I have serious doubts about it working in practice with this community.

Want to know how to stop toxicity? Stop letting garbage players play against other humans when bots would CLEARLY give them trouble. It's ok for a sh1t player to ruin my game by sucking a55 but it's not ok for me to call him out. Good logic.
