It makes it really hard to climb when you win 5 games and then lose 1 and bye bye lp. this isnt the case for me this season but last season they placed me in silver 4 and I gained 5 lp for a win and lost 20 for a loss not fair in my opinion.
its based on your mmr. if your matchmaking rating is lower than your rank then you are going to lose more points for loss than you gain on a win. they are trying to make your rank the same as your mmr.
If you keep winning more than you're losing eventually your MMR will go up to where your rank is.
I agree. It's just not feasible and it keeps a lot of people (imo) out of ranked. Sure, I COULD play 300 games and even out my MMR so that it's "accurate" but I don't have that kind of time, patience, or League self-esteem to keep pressing the lever for an unrewarding system. There needs to be a better way to identify where you belong in ranked.
