So I created a smurf to see the "new player experience"

Now because I am not a total dick, I play like top tank jinx, or ad swain mid. Because frankly I would feel bad for absolutely destroying these new players. The thing is some people who are obvious smurfs just go an wreck these new players like go 20/0 in lane and tower dive these people who don't even know how to build a champion yet.

Another thing is you are constantly put against people who have keystones. My account is level 3 and I will go up against people who are level 23, 24 ETC and these people have massive advantages on me, they may have runes, and they have keystone masteries.

All in all if I was a new player, I would probably quit league because its not fun. My Girlfriend wanted to quit league because frankly she doesn't have any fun when shes not playing with me.

You need to do something about the new player expierence if you want to keep new players riot.

Then, the 20/0 player tells the 3/8 player to uninstall because they suck

This is the problem

I had none of these issues when I started as a new player in season 4. And I think most new players wouldn't either.

As a smurf yourself, you probably won most of your matches at level 1 and 2. And by most, I mean basically all. Which raises your elo insanely quickly and puts you in these games quickly. So you're matched with Smurfs.

As a regular new player, when I started I probably went something like 3-7 or 4-6 in my first 10 (I had played a decent number of AI matches first, to like level 6 or 7). The game knew I was new, and subsequently put me with other people that it knew were new.

I've been playing as a smurf to help my friend face opponents at his summoner level, and hopefully skill as well. The first couple games had one or two smurfs, but were mostly new players. As we won, our MMR rocketed up significantly, and we ended up in games with only smurfs (besides my friend).

This is in stark contrast to my experience, where I played mostly by myself and sometimes with my level 30 friend who introduced me to the game, and ended up facing players mostly on my skill level for the pre-thirty matches where I was alone. My experience was fine.

Also, my friend's experience is going pretty well, despite the smurfs. Though they're smurfs, they're not especially more (or less) mean than people I've encountered in my level thirty games. He's liking the game, and wants to play more.

Keystone in general is very bad for new players, I have a friend who was like lv10 and he loses pretty much every game when his opponent has keystones, he simply cant trade because enemy always gets 100ish free dmg.

Me and a friend of mine who has never played league might be doing something like this for the purpose of reviewing the beginning game League of Legends experience... I can't wait to see if what he thinks. He'll probably hate it, lol.

I started right after Quinn got released. I knew nobody but my brother who was on and off with the game. He's here now as VesperNadal. But I stayed and played bot games. I had some IRL friends in this game at one point but they have since quit. Most of the people I play with it met on here. I did make a smurf to help my friends get started and the new player experience in PvP is brutal to say the least. It really needs changing.

i doubt league has more than 200 new players a month trying and of those 200 i doubt more than 50 stay after 2 months people would have diffrent play rates and leveling rates I believe that faceing people 20 levels above you isnt gonna be uncommon league isn't new anymore you are gonna be versus people like that there isnt much of a mass of players under level 30 playing constantly unless its smurfs. smurfs would be the fastest set of people to level up.
