We suck as a community

We all started playing this game and thought it was great. We played normals and didn't care if we won or lost. Somewhere along the lines we wanted to win. We always wanted to win. Then we hit level 30 and became addicted to ranked games.

We play 10 games and get placed and are never satisfied. We strive to get higher because we want to win.

Then you realize your stuck where you are. You blame your teammates for holding you back. Your teammates aren't happy where they are either. Everyone wants to be gold or higher. Then you get people who got carried through their 19 games and start in gold and drop down to bronze rapidly. They get stuck in your games and it's noticeable that they do not belong there but they are there any way. You rage. You become toxic as yoi slowly climb that ladder only to get trolls in your series games.

We strive to win and the fun has disappeared. It's not a grievous battle just to win one game. We forget that we could use improvement because we are too busy watching others fail.

What happened to us? have we forgotten what made this game fun?

The average player wins 50% and loses 50% of their games. Although it feels like every lose its devastating and the wins are not as gratifying as they used to be.

We need to change. All of us. Because we forgot this is a game. We are one big team.

Maybe you forgot this is a game, but I still have fun flashing into a 1v5 just to throw a Veigar ult onto enemy Twisted Fate and cackle in all-chat. Don't think of losing as a loss; when you are inevitably going to lose, think of the game as a sandbox environment where you can try dumb shit. Go sit with the dragon while playing dragon tamer lulu. Take a wave of enemy minions into the river and have Baron Nashor help you kill them. Sure, people will complain and report you, but they're tilted anyway, so don't mind them ;)

What works for me: remembering that winning is fun, and so are a lot of other things about League, like outplaying my opponents. I can outplay even when behind. Heck, maybe they get 3 kills and we only get 1 that fight, but it's still okay, because they were 30 kills up and the fight should have been a clean ace -- that was still an outplay, and it was still fun.

Stop playing ranked exclusively; it's not the most fun all the time. Just to be clear, it's fun to climb, and it's fun to win when against other people who are trying their hardest, too, but when that becomes the only reason why you play, your losses feel like wasted time.

Ask yourself, "Do I feel particularly competitive?" If the answer is yes, play ranked. If no, play normals. Try out some craxy off-meta strat -- Ever played Ashe Jg with Ekko mid, and stunned the enemy mid for 7 seconds straight? What about smite/tele Sion top, where you start off by smiting the enemy raptors to deny the buff and taking the enemy red with your passive before teleporting to lane with double cloth and pots? Or (you need 3 people for this one) a team comp with an adc and support both top AND bottom, where both supports take smite and relic shield, start by giving each adc a buff, then alternate between using relic shield charges in lane and taking jungle camps? They're all a lot of fun (note: I recommend Alistar for the top/supp and blitz for bot/supp. Blitz needs to stay in lane a lot more, whereas ali should roam a lot.)

When a game gets this popular, the community becomes politics, and the designers become politicians, and everything gets tied up supposition.

It's really on the developers to lead a healthy community and design a good system, because the community doesn't have any agency over the population at large or the wellbeing of the game.

I never started caring about winning and losing. I just want to have a good game. If I win great. If I lose, well at least I got to bedazzle some buttholes.

I mean, toxicity has really gone down, at least for me, I haven't had a truly toxic game in a few moths now. If you have a lot of toxic games, you could be the source of it.

At the end of the day, play to win, but also play to have fun. Losing is less shitty when you're having fun.

I think a lot of people are ok with losing. The problem that leads to the things you mentioned are when you lose a game that you're winning your matchup because top and mid are a combined 3-18 by the 12 min mark.

not me, i'm still on blind picks

i played 30 ranked games, i did great in most of them (still i only won 8 =/). people are too salty there things like : i want this role or i'll feed, i want to carry this game but you're feeding, i want this and if i don't get it i'll afk, jungler camp for me plz.... in normals these aren't as often as it is in ranked

i probably could get out of silver, but the toxicity there keeps me away, i dont really care much about rank climbing. i'm in it for the boobs and the fun

Except that i seem to be on a winning spree in Platinum. Besides, i don't flame at my teammates, it's pointless.
