  • spoken by the only player in the team that did not upgrade his trinket or buy a single ward, even after the 40th minute mrk, after both ADC and support light up the entire map with yellow trinkets and pink wards.

Please, don't be that kind of player <_<

I'm a main support, and I see people complaining about wards, when they don't even upgrade their own trinket.

But to another matter, there is absolutely no reason, ever, not to buy a sightstone, so if you don't buy a sightstone, you're just wasting cash on wards.

Unlimited wards for 400 gold.... You will not be able to light up the map through a whole game for that kind of money without a sightstone.

So you kind of are wasting your teams gold, and you SHOULD buy a sightstone.

My point, he was rude, but you need to buy a sightstone....

Well a Sightstone is needed to get a red trinket and not wasting a slot

He's right though, if your a support and you dont know that sightstone is a must item you should go back to normals.

Gonna ask the question why you didn't get the sightstone? Either you were being really inefficient with your gold and buying a ton of wards instead of the sightstone, or you just weren't warding as much as you think you were.

you play support with no wardstone

Yeah dont be that kind of player...

Nobody likes all this "mage support" who try to "carry" the game by trying to build mage item and now they are not mages or support they just something in the half which is pretty much useless....

I am pretty sure bot lane got ganked 100 times and you would all like "omg dont tell me to buy wards is not my job"

Yeah i can see what kind of player you are..

Sightstone is one of the first items you get as a support, usually a first back or second back item (its depennds if you are doing really well and you want to holdoff sightstone to get a sup item upgrade) but i usually have a build path similiar to this on Braum oor most utility supports (I build Braum slightly different but this is just a general build) item 3302 oritem 3301 (depends on style) First backitem 2049 +item 3341 +item 2043 (item 1001 if you are doing great) Second: upgrade your support item and get mobis, after you have mobis and sightstone dont be afraid to deep ward and get your own jungle full of sight.

Now next is the hardest part, its the items that you really need to build accordingly. The usual items are

item 3028 item 3024 item 3108 <---Armor, MR, AP.

Chalice for Mana and MR, Glacial for Armor CDR and mana, Codex for CDR and AP. These 3 items are the base for almost ever good support item that supports should be building.

item 3024 item 3110 item 3050

item 3028 item 3174 item 3222

item 3108 item 3504 item 3165

For the next item i HIGHLY suggest

item 3105 <----This is a great item that can be built into a good defense support itemitem 3190 Or a split push item that allows you to put a squeeze on a lane item 3060

One of my personal favorite items for late game will always be item 3512 It gives defense, a split push item to pop in a lane and leave, as well as a little MS boost when near turrets (great for avoiding pulls, abilities or even tower diving)

To be fair, not buying a sightstone on support is noob, regardless of how the other player is playing.

It's been my experience that people who don't care enough to buy a SS rarely ward enough for it to be meaningful with their upgraded trinkets. I've been that "kind of player" you refer to where a support built full AP and I told her to buy SS...I upgraded my trinket at level 9, and 30 minutes into the game after finishing a deathcap she rushed, (albeit slowly since she also didn't buy a support item so her gold was limited to stolen kills and splitpushing when she should have been supporting), finally upgrades her trinket. After the loss I check her ward count. 6. Even after the team bringing it to her attention she REFUSED to ward. How do you drop your trinket 6 times in a 40-45 minute game? Guess how many dragons we got that game? Not more than 1.

I might only be bronze.....but I've noticed people like to copy everything the pro's do except warding. LOL. They run 2 sightstones on LCS teams usually yet regular supports are offended to even buy 1. TBH I think supports like that need to just get over the fact they didn't get mid and actually support. You can build 4 deathcaps if you want after you get get a SS and boots and I wont even question you. But... if you have a item 1058 in your inv and not a item 2049 , and you've been ganked successfully more than once, or they've gotten more than one uncontested dragon, I secretly hate you. You're the worst kind of support. When you factor in the time difference in trinket wards and SS wards, if you both drop 20 wards, the support with the SS had vision up almost twice as long as the support with the trinket. If the jungler never took smite and every time you tried to dragon or baron it got stolen, you'd blame the jungler for not taking smite, even if you didn't say it out loud. Buy the SS. You won't regret it. If you lose with the SS you were going to lose anyways.

It really depends, if you are in bronze for example, most people are not warding at all so the red trinket feels kinda of lackluster since you aren't really clearing anything and since you will most likely need to carry your games you will most likely want to buy wards till high enough to upgrade trinket and play a mage supp. Other then that SS and sweepers is staple. However more on to the point, i feel you have no right to get on the supports case about warding if you yourself do not have 2-3 wards on the map. Warding is EVERYONE'S job. I will say this again, EVERYONE'S JOB. It makes me cringe when i hear support needs to ward when they have been and the person crying hasn't.

TeaReckz10/13/2015, 1:09:17 PM1 votes

It's k, I got carried yesterday by a Singed top that never even got a trinket ;(

Damagefox10/14/2015, 5:43:45 AM1 votes

I had a game like that was hilarious...and I was in mid lane (I normally support)

Top Lane: "Stupid shrooms" (Teemo on enemy team) Me: Buy Pinks for teemo's shrooms Top lane: I am Not Buying 20 pinks just for teemo Me: You can Upgrade your free yellow trinket into a pink Top lane: 250g, Not free.

Long story short, team complained about teemo's shrooms. Not willing to buy wards or upgrade trinkets because they are "too expensive" (apparently 250g is too expensive)

another irritating point is STOP saying it is ONLY support's job to help ward the map. I (as a support can only do so much. You want more vision, Get off your ass and help provide it, or stop complaining about how the support isnt warding enough.

Not entirely sure how you expect me to ward anything. . .
