report baiting has become an absolute plague

It seems like every game i run into at least one person trying to goad allies into flaming them. or trying to get people to gang up on one person. THIS HAS TO STOP. im sick and tired of getting bans and chat restrictions because someone is typing in allchat "report scazzman" when i havent even said anything yet. and then actually getting reported because i tried to defend myself

you know, the best way to deal with report baiters is to just mute and ignore them. As you've pointed out they're just baiting you so there's no point in arguing it out because you know they have no legitimate reason for saying what they do.

Even pro players quickly mute players. I've seen Oddone and Dyrus mute ppl just for saying lmao when they die. Muting them is the fastest way so you won't tilt...Anyone who says words don't hurt or can't affect someone is full of bs...there are plenty of words you can say to random people and probably get in an altercation.

Simple solution: Don't try to defend yourself. Just mute them, report them for harassment, and move on. If your personal pride is more important then not getting banned, then I completely understand. However, this is the internet. For the most part, the only one in solo queue that cares about you is you.

Think of the mute button as pre-rework item 3075 and your team's insults as auto attacks. By hitting the mute button when they start flaming (or even just not replying to them if you like to see them dig their own graves) and then reporting after the game, you bring official attention to their shenanigans without putting yourself at risk. False reports are punishable as well, so don't give them the ammo for that gun and it'll backfire on them even harder.

I hope I helped.
